*** A better color hoser than you might think. Tourach's Chant should be an automatic 2- or 3-of in any monoblack deck's sideboard. Sure, Perish might get rid of all green creatures in play, but it's a one-shot deal. For a reasonable casting cost and one black mana per turn to keep the chant going, it's a green mage's worst nightmare. Suddenly, every elf or mana fixer a green mage wishes to play is going to cost him 3 life. If they even make it to the late game to play a bigger creature, it will enter play with a -1/-1 counter, which to this day is one of the hardest creature status effects to remove. An elegant, balanced color hoser.
