This card can get you any card for perfect tactics.1 mana is good so you can play it on your first turn.the fact that it drains life from you is not a good thing however. -- By Anonymous from Marquette,Ohio on January 01, 2002 |

-- By David Ramos from Montijo, Portugal on January 23, 2002 |

Very good card. The best of the instant tutors, as it can nab you a creature, artifact, enchantment or land. Works well with cards like Oath of Druids or Yawgmoth's Bargain (not that any of you play with that :-p) -- By Greg Pothier from Halifax, NS Canada on August 06, 2004 |

Anyone who knows anything ranks this among the best cards in the game. NO one cares about the life loss. -- By Daniel Baker from Mass. on September 20, 2004 |

This card doesn't even come close to Demonic Tutor. It's a good card, yes, but inferior to a Demonic Tutor. -- By Kristen from Dane, WI on June 11, 2005 |

well........INSTANT stands out. 2 life who cares, yeah.....there are soooo many ways to gain life and well that helps. Black decks usually have drain life/death grasp/sould burns/agoney. So what the heck!! first on their turn do a nice little oram's chant, and then the tutor. What BETTER WAY to spend 2 mana and 2 life. You might be looking as good as brad pitt after that play!!! later -- By jb from NJ on March 25, 2006 |

One casting cost is great. Two life is not bad. Putting the card on top of your library instead of in your hand make this possibly the most overrated card of all time. Demonic Tutor is 100 times better than this piece of junk. -- By Guy from Pittsburgh, PA on May 04, 2006 |

Yeah, uh-oh is right! This card is a blithering idiot! I tried to use this card to find my chairs but it just kept walking by a lot. What's with this 'DUH' stuff anyway? -- By Tom Chritton from NoPointing on June 03, 2006 |

Don't listen to the reviewers who gave this card a low rating, this is a great card. The life loss may seem like a bad idea, but it's a small price to pay for that specific card you need on the spot. True, it doesn't get a card instantly the way Demonic Tutor, but Vampiric can be played on the first turn. If you are complaining about the life loss from Vampiric Tutor, chances are you are losing. -- By Mr. Anderson from Indiana on May 20, 2007 |

For those of you who say this card sucks, is absolutely wrong! This card is incredible. Comparing it to Demonic Tutor is ok, but the tutor is a SORCERY, while this is an INSTANT. At the end of your opponents turn, cast this and set up a combo. Draw your card, and possible game over. This card is super-broken! -- By Evan from Chicago, IL on August 17, 2007 |

this is a very good card and higher in play value than any demonic tutor fan will leave you to believe
one of the single best black cards to ever be printed
more turn two kills after this on turn one, than any single other card. -- By Anonymous from sudbury, ontario, canada on November 29, 2007 |

For one more mana I can get the card I want in my hand, not on top of my library. How often does the fact that this is an instant help you? So what if it's an instant, you have to wait until you draw a card for it to be useful. That's card disadvantage. Vampiric Tutor is weak. -- By Adam Pingry from Australia on June 19, 2008 |
