*** i have alot of fond memories tied up in this card. when i started playing MTG around 'weatherlight' i glommed onto this card pretty quickly. the first year or so, i was playing the colors red and black and this particular card was in and out of numerous decks. why? the major reason was because it flew and could regenerate for one black mana...the same measly one mana it cost to cast it. and i was much more defensive minded back then. way more. later on, i would pump it up with cards like 'bad moon'(another fun card in too many to count decks). wizards of the coast would keep coming out with cheap black creature pumpers and once again 'will-'o-the-wisp' would be popped back out into some other cheap casting cost deck. sadly, i don't play as many fun decks as i used to, as losing kinda' paled over the years, although i will say the circle i played in also got pretty good too. anyway, the last time i played this was around 'mirrodin' block when someone challenged me to build a good black suicide deck. and it was decent with cards like 'culling the weak,' 'hatred,' 'bonesplitter,' 'empyrial platez(?),' and of course other weenies and 'dark ritual.' in conclusion, a really fun card that, while not game shattering, is pretty unique for black being a one casting cost flyer that regenerates. enjoy! ***** This is one the best defencive cards in the game. 1 to get out and 1 to regenerate, and it's flying so it can block anything. I like to get a couple of these out, slap venoms on them and dare poeple to attack.

**** Classic! This card is one of my true favorites, not just the fact that it's a great defender in the beginning of the game, but more because it takes me back to when i first started playing MTG. Back when the illustration had an as great impact on my choice of cards as the text. Definately a keeper if you ask me.
