great card for combinations. Try with Nullstone Gargoyle and steel golem with bazaar trader, complete lockdown of opponent. Here it is: Arcane 1 spell per turn, nullstone counters 1st noncreature spell per turn,steel golem you cant play creature spells....use bazaar trader to give golem to opponent! lock, nothing can be played by opponent.

with control it's definitely powrful, but the real use for this is to keep down storm decks...against TEPS or Dragonstorm, your chances of winning go up by like 80% with this...how many storm decks have disenchants in their sideboard or main deck?? thats right.

Great control card, especially when you have an Isochron Scepter with a counterspell imprinted on it. You can counter your opponents only spell every turn!

fantastic when u use lots of instants so u can play 2 (one in opponent's turn) to their probable one. also fantastic with elvish piper and seeker of skybreak - you can get down loads of creatures real cheap and they can only play one spell! Cards that have nifty activated abilities - the invasion masters, legacy weapon etc - work fantastically with this card (!just watch out for the cursed totem!). a masters / arcane lab deck is tough, if you deal with the totem.
