its called flash, protean hulk, academy rector, accursed centaur.... GG. I usually win on turn 3 or 4 with that combo assuming I have to use a tutor for it. I have even won on the 1st or 2nd turn... Invincible hymn is good to throw in there as well.

With a game like magic, you have to push your limits, I say what the hell. throw this in a deck with some diabolic tutors, parallel thoughts, mortal kombat, in name death and life,Myojin of Life's Web, phage,Szadek Lord of Secrets, coalition victory, and door to nothingness just for good measure. if you're gonna have a deck that size you might as well have all the win cards in it just for kicks.

Great card for casual play. Seriously, the look on your friend's faces when you sit down with a 220+ card deck (and all in sleeves, of course) is priceless. Lots of card drawing/ searches (Managra's tome, parrellel thoughts, ect) and you'll have a blast. Its the thrill of trying :) Fun card to build a deck around. And with 220 cards, you might as well throw in all that stuff you "always wanted to use, but just couldn't bring yourself to do it" Only real trick is shuffling your library each time your done searching it, lol.

Most of you people are idiots why the hell would they print this legal if u couldn't have more than 60 cards....learn the rules?

THis card can be a real help. There are some cards that let you search your library for any card. If you draw a mystic tutor than you can use it to get a diabolic tutor. then you use it to search for this card and you win the game. I don't know why so many people don't like this card.

good card...you people need to learn your rules...60 is the minimum a deck can have...feel free to have 200+ cards...and anyone ever hear of prismatic? you need one helluva lotta cards to build a prismatic deck.

This is what makes the basically-no-upper-card-limit of Magic decks absolutely grand :D

For one thing, there is no maximum card limit, just a minimum. If you can shuffle your deck acceptably (and believe me, this one's no fun one to shuffle), then you can use it. There IS a minimum card limit of 40 in sealed deck and 60 in constructed.

I agree! The above people are idiots who know nothing of strategy. If you have 24(legal) search cards in a 240 card deck, you have a 1 out of 10 chance to draw a winning card, and 7 out of 10 to draw in your first hand! Also, you can put 3 battle of the wits in your deck and one in your sideboard, then use four golden wishes!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I beat my friend 3rd turn with this card!!! 1st turn - lotus, tundra, enlightened tutor, search for this... second turn, draw it, play some blue dual land, sac lotus and play it, then wait for the next turn... my 234 card fruity pebble deck on Apprentice is pretty amusing...

Great card! You can easily play 240 good cards and with the wishes coming it's even better. It's broken in every format from type 1 to block. Why is this still a $2 card? I won a 112 person standard tournament with it, and the only time someone played it in a grand prix it made the top eight. troll and toad is sold out of them at $5 but they are the only ones. I guess they have the smartest buyer around.

If this card sucks so bad then why is battle of wits one of the main T2 contenders, and why did a deck by that name make quarter finals in MASTERS???

A lot of you have it wrong... the MINIMUM size of a deck is 60 cards. The maximum is several million (all the basic lands in the world plus 4 of everything except basic lands.) You can build a 220-250 card deck with 4 Battle of Wits and everything except the kitchen sink to search for it (OK, you should probably stay away from Demonic Consultation in this deck, but everything else!) You can get it with any creature search card (via Academy Rector) and any instant search card (via Enlightened Tutor).

Just to straighten everyone out on the rules: The minimum number of cards in a magic deck is 40, however most constructed deck tournaments increase the minimum to 60. I believe, but I am not posotive, that there must be exactly 60 cards in a legal tournament deck. However, it could have no maximum, it's one of the two. The card, I admit, can be quite useful but winning that way, just isn't my style.

this card would seriously have to be one of the cheapest for those long games. Of course its completely useless in most tourneys.

Just so everyone knows, there is no maximum number of cards in one's library. The MINIMUM is 60. And this card, though illegal in tournament, is relatively awesome. Four of them in your deck and a bunch of finding cards. Super stellar.

extremely funny card, but whats the point when the max. card limit in your library is 60-80.

Very funny. If they did allow it into tournoments they would have to revize their rules. I mean 200 cards in your library?!?!?

You can play with as many cards as you want to as long as you have 60 or more in tournament format or 40 or more in non-tournament play. This is not a very serious card, but come on... How many cards have text that say "you win the game."? No matter how unlikely it is that you will draw this card with a HUGE deck like that, if you do get lucky this is the ultimate powerhouse card. I agree that this should be an unglued card and Wizards shouldn't continue to print it. If I got one in a booster or whatever, I'd be po'ed.

Really a very useless card, I really don't think it should have ever been made in an otherwise splendid expansion. 200 CARDS!!!!!!!!!!

Funny card, but I know that if somebody beat me with this card, I would have to hurt him. I might even quit playing magic all together.
