Killer Whale is visually interesting and a fair card if you don't have too much else. However, Air Elemental costs the same, and has flying for free, rather than shelling out a blue mana whenever you want to use it. I guess that since Killer Whale doesn't fly automatically he won't be targeted by all those nasty anti-flying green spells, and that is a plus sometimes.
