1 word: rancor. After that, anytime its sent to the graveyard, either nature's spiral it or rise it from the grave, and put rancor on again.

It is good in so many ways that it's almost unfair - Maelstrom Pulse, Putrefy and many others make sure that you get loads of cards into all graveyards before he hits the table... and just thinking about Dredge gives me the chills...!

And if you want to give the Lord trample, you could try getting a Brawn into your graveyard :P

this guy rules! put him out after you use a traumatize and a mind funeral together. then have a nemesis of reason or two to attack with him every turn. or you could just use a szadek, lord of secrets...

Living death, reanimator decks, any combo deck that plays itself out and fast, even counterspell decks and burn can abuse this because they use few permanents and fill their own graveyards fast.

It's ridiculously awesome. This card on the table next to Nemesis of Reason is just scary.

It is amazing how little play this guy sees. To me this says there is something wrong with the standard environment when a powerful creature as this doesn't see any play because he has no abilities (deathtouch, shroud, flying, uncounterable, trample). Indeed, whenever I play test him I find myself wishing I just had a broodmate or Uril instead, because creatures are simply so easy to remove these days, and with BM you are at least likely to keep your token for a few turns. That saud, I'd really like to do something with this guy. Maybe as the fellow above me suggest, a counter burn, or maybe a power 5 deck since his pwr/tough is equal to the cards in your graveyard even when he isn't in play if I am not mistaken, thus he can be used mayel, spellbreaker, etc.

Hello Soul Fire and Rite of Consumption.

I agree he is quite under rated, but I'm pretty sure that his power and toughness are each 0 until he hits the board. I think this is true for any creature with stars or whatever instead of numbers for power and toughness. I could be wrong, here, but I'm pretty sure.

Meh... It's huge and scary! I'll block it with my 1/1 saproling! This card is ridiculously overrated.
