Should have bought these years ago when they were only a $1. I''m a {B}Mage often in need artifact removal, and this is the only GOOD artifact removal in mono-{B}... Kinda screwed the pooch on this one~

This is a far more viable card than people give it credit for. Besides curse artifact, this is the only straight black card that can destroy a artifact in play. SO if you like playing mono black this should fit nicely in your sideboard or main deck depending on the meta.

i just can't agree with the other reviewer(s). i've tried this card in the past and it just defines too narrow a niche for whatever type environment you're playing. now obviously, monoblack doesn't have a real good way to deal with artifacts that hit the table. and on face value, this card doesn't seem bad with something like 'rotlung reanimator' or 'nether spirit.' but heck, if you're going to go that route why not expand your options and just put something like 'powder keg,' 'engineered explosives,' 'nevinyrral's disk,' or 'oblivion stone.' this shows up the true shortcomings of this card because these other options allow you a wider latitude and let you expand your sideboard to deal with other threats of a different nature that would otherwise be taken up by a narrowly defined card such as this. love the art though and only wish i COuld slap it down on the table as it looks downright wicked.............

This has never been a terribly useful card, but with the introduction of the new Mirrodin expansion and its plethora of artifact cards, this may change. Use this in tandem with creature generating cards such as Squirrel Nest or Breeding Pit and you will have quite a potent combination for use against your opponents. Additionally, this will round out any collection of Phyrexian cards if you enjoy collecting them as I do.
