if your playing Dimir or even just basic control i would be surprised if there isn't a powerful creature in Any graveyard... come to that if you have mana spare why not use it for graveyard hate? pay 3 to remove a creature from the game and get some use of it at the same time? Why not? Its especially good with Traumatise or, the walking version, Szadek, Lord of Secrets.

This can be a definite alternate kill in a U/B mill deck. If you can't muster your mill kill in time, just exile their biggest, baddest monstrocity and beat 'em to death with it. Can also be used effectively in case your best creature gets Iced and you want it back :P

Why not use this with phage and some unblockable creature like a dimir infiltrator? Get both in the graveyard and 6 mana wins the game. There are a lot of great combos with this beast of a card.

This has to be my favourite Dimir card, although his useffulness depends on the creatures your opponent is running. It can also help you, to get Szadek, Lord of Secrets out on turn four, if you are running self discard cards.
To illustrate just how usseful this guy is, here is a hopeless situation he got me out yesterday.
My opponent had two 3/3 soldiers and one 4/5 soldier out, while I had only this guy transformed in his Serra Angel and Vedalken Entrancer. Drawing another remand really didn`t help the situation even a bit, and so I passed the turn. He attacked with all his force, thinking that one creature will get through for sure, but as quickly as my Serra Angel and Vedalken Entrancer blocked I transformed the Doppelganger into his Intrepid Hero (making him tap, kills a creature with power 4 or greater), who took out his biggest and unblocked creature. Than I had to assure, that Doppelganger survives, so I transformed it into 0/6 Junktroller from my graveyard. At the end of his turn I tapped my Entrancer to mill him for two and he was so angry, when he saw what fell into his graveyard.
I can just say, that he never got to attack again, as my Doppelganger removed from his graveyard the Blinding Angel:)

It was a great game.

Dimir Doppleganger and bitter ordeal anyone? As for the guy quoting the legendary rule, the creature you are copying is coming from the graveyard.......legendary rule doesn't apply. You can get the best creature your opponent is running out on the four turn using normal mana sources (quicker if you can generate the mana sooner). Most people have a kill switch creature in their deck. Finding your opponents best creature and killing him/her with it is a great feeling, trust me I've done it.

I think all cards are as good as the next, whether it being common or mythic rare. Saying this card is no good is irrelevant. Magic is so fair, its unfair. It just depends on the players ability to respond strategically and effectively.
