Can't find words to describe how good this is. And to all people who say "I can just unsummon it" - Sure you can, but I can just counter your unsommon?
People who say that cards like these are bad because they CAN be dealt with don't understand the game. Cards (like Arcbound Ravager) that makes you wish you had an answer in your hand are always good. If a card is good enough to demand answers immediately, then it's definitely 5/5.
Can anyone name a single card in Magic that can't be dealt with one way or another? No? Then I suggest people stop being childish and grow up - Arcbound Ravager is sick and demands removal right away. If you don't have your precious Unsummon or Shatter ready when the Ravager is coming, then it's game over for you.

great card. i got destroyed by this one many a time but my favorite would be broodstar affinity. i laugh at all the people writing reviews on how this can be stopped by fog or chump blocked when its a 25/25 or 40/40. its not about just attacking and anyone, and i mean anyone who has played the game more than just 20 times would know that its not all about attacking. anyone want to say this card sucks or is overpriced, go look at disciple of the vault, skullclamp and all the affinity artifacts that become free when you have X artifacts in play and then you should realize just how amazingly overpowered this card is. insane... just insane...

awesome to combo with the new magic2010 Open the Vaults and old school Disciple of the Vault. Sacrifice all your artifacts to power up Ravager and they lose health for every one you do. then use open the vaults to bring all artifacts back... then sack em again... then hit him

Alongside disciple of the Vault is where this card shines, but now consider the affinity deck with those 4 little Ornithopters to bring down mana costs. Suddenly, one of them gets huge when you sac your ravager to itself and BAM, 15/17 flying.

If you were just sacraficing generic 1/1s with no special abilities, then it would not be that great. Obviously, this card is meant for the modular decks. Sacrifice a 1/1 with modular, and the Ravager gets 2 +1/+1 counters. This card has become so popular that there have been entire decks made around it that consistantly show up in tournaments.

A good card for a artifact deck but most people miss use it you need to be able to beafeat a 4 stare goblin deck With this card. But u may need a cuple more cards. I know cuse I use to love this card I had so many comboes for it it was not even funny! If you use this card right you can do good.

This is a great card, and it's only banned in standard. Which means it's legal in everything else, type 1 etc in 4 copies strong, as well as all of the others banned from mirrodin block, except for skullclamp and trinisphere. So this is still a decent card, and is playable in many of the formats, so don't tear up your ravagers yet.

Ravager are fast, but every card have their weakness, in this case 'unsummon'. I say people rely on this card TOO much and the main problem is that people make the same deck with the same idea and the same card. This card has a lot of potential but as people rather choose "beat down" as their strategy. The way they are playing can't handle multi-player game well. There are other strategy, in fact a very good one and no it is not 'disciple of the vault'. (hint: synthetic ravaging combo)

Name : Arcbound Ravager
Type : Rare Artifact Creature
Power/toughness : 0/0 with modular 1
Why such a good card? Because when you get it out you just power it by sacking your artifacts after they declare they'll let it through. In a good deck (affinity) it should end the game on the fouth turn possibly quicker. When you use it properly its sooo good its almost like cheating. P.S. Essential for affinity....

By far the best card in darksteel, and pushes on being the best in the entire block, although I do still like Chrome mox. Affinity deck's main weapon and with disciple of the vault, nigh on unstoppable. (Except for molder slug)

Without a doubt the best freakin' Arcbound creature EVER!!! Let's say you sacrifice a creature with 4 +1/+1 counters on it in order to put a +1/+1 counter on Ravager. If that creature has Modular, you put FIVE ON HIM!!! My friend has an Arcbound deck with 3 of these guys and I honestly can't think of a time he's ever lost with it!

This is one of the best cards i have ever seen in my entire life. This has so many possibilities now that mirrodin block is out with a whole bunch of artifacts.
Works great in affinity because you can sacrifice your lands after they don't block you. and you sac them after you have played your whole hand, that in affinity only takes about 3 turns to do in a decent deck.

Only 4 stars because it's really ONLY effective in artifact decks. Still great, play Mycosynth Lattice for some serious funnies.

And to the guy who disliked the card because of it being able to be blocked by a 1/1....Just give it trample >.> he's colorless, so you could have lots of things equip for trample.

I run an artifact deck. This guy is good. I STILL like broodstar better, though. No sacrificing needed, AND he's got flying.

I play this card in a modular deck and play it with Memnarch and Mycosynth Lattice for complete domination. wipe your enemy clean every turn and sac everything you just stole for ravager... Shweet....

This card is good for the deck that's made around it: Ravager/Affinity. It isn't the "best card ever made" or the "unstoppable creature from Darksteel" but as of January 2005 it is the keystone to probably the strongest deck in Type II.

The ravager is absolutely deadly in an arcbound/affinity deck. The problem with it, and the reason I can only give him 3 stars is that in any other deck type, he isn't really all that amazing. I guess I personally feel that a 4 or 5 star card should be useful in a wide variety of deck types, and I don't think this one is.

I like arbound stinger better becuz it has flying but the raveger dont and arcbound crusher is betterer to becuz it gots trampl and get more ofense and defend every artifact you put in your battlfeild zone but ravager dont get bigger unless one of you other artifact dies

Its a nice card but has several weaknesses. My favorite is Memnarch, which is pretty much anythings weakness.
But a simple counter spell or unsummon works nice as well. I dont let the lil monkey through, esp if the can become a BIG monkey.

Simple math: Fog>Arcbound Ravenger, Counterspell>Arcbound Ravenger, Shatter>Arcbound Ravenger, Dispersal Shield>Arcbound Ravenger, Stifle>Arcbound Ravenger, Trick Bind>Arcbound Ravenger... need I say more?

this card is going to be banned (as of 20 March 2005), HAHA. no more artifact hate sideboard. The artifact lands, disciple of the vault is also going to be banned, so bye bye ravager and its value. Swry to be mean, but i have got all these cards in my sideboard, just against artifacts, i probably can take them out now!
