I got this card in a trade and was like "Ehh why not?" then NPH released giving me Torpor orb and now M12 with Infinite Sundial. Now this get's 5 stars. When M12 comes out I am making a deck around this with Strider Harness, Lightning Greaves, Infinte Sundial, Torpor Orb, and some other assorted stuff. Great card for casual.

Torpor Orb, Stifle/Trickbind, Illusionary Mask all viable options to get this guy rolling w/o skipping any turns. Otherwise, I'd agree with an above mentioned strategem with Tangle Wire, Smokestacks, Winter Orb/Static Orb, Trinisphere, or Braids

Use this card with Smokestack. Play Eater of Days and give them three turns in a row in which they have to sac 2-3 permanents. After that, sac your own Smokestack and beat some face in while your opponent's board is empty.

yep, i have one of these, my favorite card, except when the othe player has a memnarch(which i have), yeah, then you are screwed because memnarch has the ability to take over an artifact creature.

If you can manipulate and control the board with Trinisphere, Tangle Wire and Smokestack, this card works quite well.

If you don't want to pay the money to buy Stifle, Trickbind and Vision Charm will also work. Enjoy!

4 mana for such a beater is always good. Use Stifle or something equivalent to deal with the drawback - or try playing it in a red deck with Pandemonium and In the Web of War.. hey, that gave me a good idea for a deck! You could make an exciting deck with a couple of Eater of Days, some Cosmic Larvas, some rituals (Rite of Flame, Desperate Ritual and Seething Song), some Pandemoniums and a couple of In the Web of War (and probably some Lightning Greaves too).. that could produce 4th turn kills xD

Great card for the casting cost, bad for the turn delay, awsome in stength, bad for the turn delay... but through all of that effort you might want to have a Darksteel Forge so it doesnt get taken away within those to skipped turns...Oh and as we all should know, Definatley have other creatures out that can block for you...

This card is a killer when you are starting a game. Its cheap mana costs and high damage. The only downside of this card is if you are losing, and need to continue to get cards out there.
A VERY VERY GOOD CARD, buy it, its super cheap!

The eater is excellent when your opponent is still busy putting down cards, otherwise you can also use stifle (quite a combo, really), and there is a really cheap creature which also is incredibly strong, in fact, the second strongest with flying (next to draco) and trample (next to the devouring strossus) that I've seen. Itīs excellent for offensive tactics.

It's not bad, 4 mana of any color and it's a 9/8 flying with trample. Yup, it's not bad at all

my friend owns one and every time he uses it he gets owned, if you want a good flyer get a nightmare.
