first review is correct, ask yourself, what is the point in spending "x" mana if you have to spend "x" life and each player loses "x" life? now look at it again.... wizards isn't stupid....

I do agree that this is an over-looked card. As for the quote stating "...you still the mana...", honestly dude, if you have trouble coming up with 1 mana in a deck you should seriously re-consider your deck.

If at any time in the game you have even 1 more life than your opponent, you win! i think people have over looked this card...

It is a good card, to get rid of some extra mana, but you have to pay "X" mana equal to "X" life some people don't quite understand that.

It is an ADDITIONAL cost. So not one mana, X mana! Else it would've been the "BEST BLACK SORCERY IN MTG"!

Uhhh, thats what I thought at first...but the life payment is an ADDITIONAL COST. You need the mana, too.
