Card Text[+1]: Look at the top card of your library. If it's a noncreature, nonland card, you may reveal it and put it into your hand. [−2]: When you cast your next instant or sorcery spell from your hand this turn, it gains rebound. (Exile the spell as it resolves. At the beginning of your next upkeep, you may cast that card from exile without paying its mana cost.) [−9]: You get an emblem with "Your opponents can't cast noncreature spells."

I think the effectiveness of Narset can most soberly be understood by looking at it from a losing board-state. If you draw Narset when looking for answers, it could be a bit of a pain. On it''s own it does nothing other than provide a beefy distraction. Given the power of standard''s creatures, without defense Narset will hopefully last one turn, enough to *possibly* cantrip. Narset makes the answers you already have better. If you have no answers, you need to hope to get one using the first ability. The +1 will likely get you something less than 50% of the time. In a dire situation, or if you don''t have anything to rebound, you will would rather have just drawn the answer rather than the enhancement.  If you have mana and time to spare, it will ensure you keep and extend your lead. If you are behind, then I think people are overvaluing the card. At 4-5 and/or 6 mana, drawing it might just do nothing and get you killed. Comparing it to Jace is silly; Jace provided immediate answers. This does not.In a control mirror... it''s really good though.Respond to any short-sightedness I may be experiencing, but please be respectful. Thanks for reading :)

Why?
I''m not sure what all the hype is about this card. I''m hoping someone will school me with him soon but, so far it hasn''t happened. So far I''ve just seen people waste 4 mana and not get anything from it. This far into the standard rotation, by 4 the time you have 4 mana the game can be won.
