Absolutly amazing. Think of this. you put it in a burn deck. when you play it you have 7 mountains. play firebolt, replicate it 6 times. 14 damage. next turn flashback the firebolt for 5 mana and replicate it 2 times. that's 6 more damage and a win. I'm getting 3 more next time I order cards.

You guys are thinking too much. Just use lightning bolt with this ... if you got acess to 7 red mana thats 21 damage spell chain. Or shock for 14 damage if your playing in a tournament type where ltng bolt isnt allowed.

Note that the Seething Song combo only works with Izzet Guildmage.

This gives Replicate, which is different from copying a spell with the guildmage.

You only get extra copies when you first play the card, meaning to get infinite copies you would have to spend infinite mana. It's still useful for ohkos though.

This card has got to be a key card for any Izzet themed deck. I mean replicate is good on the cards that have it, but think...to have everyone of your instants and sorceries having it!!! This card is perfect for anyone trying to draw cards, concentrate works well for this combo. ILUNATIS RULESSSS!!!!!!

Absolutely awesome. Although a big problem for the Izzet is high mana cost, a 3/5 flyer is a good defender. Use this card with two Seething Songs with a Lava Spike. Use both Seething Songs add 10 to your mana pool, spend 6 of that mana to Replicate the Songs and add 10 more mana. Thats 12, continue to do this process until you have about 1000000000000000000000 mana in your mana pool. Then use Lava spike, and replicate it and BAM! Instant win. This also works with Desperate Ritual.

This is one of the many reasons I absolutely love Red/Blue.
Djinn Illuminatus + Gelectrode have made some amazing decks for me.

Pyromancer's Swath, Seething Song, Djinn, Lightning Bolt: 25 damage, 6 mana.

Eon Hub in play. End of your opponent's turn, Pact of the Titan. Zero cost. 20,000 replicate.
Your turn, they lose Summoning Sickness, you skip your upkeep and live, swing with 20k 4/4
Similarly, Pact of Negation - That spell is NOT going to happen. Your stack of 40 counterspells say so.

A very fun card with tons of combos. Especially fun in Casual, where it doesn't matter that it is pricey. For Ancestral Visions.. the mana cost is not 0. The mana cost does not exist. Therefore since this replicates the mana cost it would not work.

Can't you just deck your opponents out with this card and Ancestral Visions? Or are we not allowed to play spells with no mana costs and therefore not allowed to replicate them?

a good, if expensive, card. yes, having replicate on all of your spells is pretty fun. i can say this from personal experience. I used to play a Dimir/Millstone B/U deck, and the Illuminatus was my star player. I'd replicate Glimpse the Unthinkable around... oh... eight times and take 80 cards off an opponent's deck in one go.

I'm actually surprised no one else has seen this combo...
Also, the Izzet is nowhere near as good as the Orzhov. Just thought I'd throw that out there. :D

illuminitus is a card i have put much thought into and i wound up running 2 of him in my blue/green deck and and i know he's expensive and all and i heard at regionals a waste of space and other kinds of downers about the card, but he is either blur or red with both are or pair with dmg,removal...no one can tell me that a bruiser deck ising going to have a demonic tutor well must expecially T1 anyway so 3-4 demonic tutors for a turn no good for you huh? how bout replecating that beserk in a blue/green beck nothing like a Djinn that u pump 4 green mana into to make him a 48 trampler now if that's not quality then i dont kow what is and red even 4 red mana and there u go u got ur self a lightning bolt that just 12 dmg for you and with djinn costing 7 im sure you have more then 4 :)....o and P.S everyone at regionals seen a giant keiga or dginn commin there way :)

Except that Seething song is not an Instant. The Guildmage has two replicating abilitys, and the one that costs red mana only effects Instants. Also note that You really only need one Ritual or Song, as they both give more mana then their costs, and you can replicate them infinte times, getting infinte mana to cast any burn-spell infinte times. So yeah.

Good card. Really good card. Even without one of the above mentioned cards, you can use the lands you played this big ole Djinn with to replicate some usefull spells plenty of times. But it stills costs a lot...

Well this card is ok, but you have to realise its not always about the ability but as the creatures own ability to survive and dish out any good damage, whcih he has a bit of a problem with because he could block some nasty cards, even flyers (like Szadek) but he won't take them down with him with his very meager attack. Oh FYI, its ability isn't good iwth concentrate because you have to invest 10 mana.

you can't use the songs and replicate them right away....the replicate costs are paid as the spell is placed onto the stack. Since the spell resolves, THEN adds the mana, you can't do that. Almost, though.

too much mana cost for a 3/5. Even with the ability it's still not too good unless you have mana acceleration.
