Trey Highland is incorrect: you have to choose the creature type before you look at opponent's hand. (Glasses of Urza can get around that though.)

Nonetheless, an awesome card in this age of all elf/goblin/fairy/angel/dragon/zombie decks... Plus these days everything is a beast or soldier or wizard... Even against non-tribal decks, it's a great way to destroy creatures with protection from black, or "cannot be the target of spells or abilities". No black deck should be without a couple of these, useful in every situation.

Tsabo's Decree is an awesome card. It can be played at any time because its an instant. This is a great ability. Your opponent shows you their hand, and you choose a creature type from that.They discard all of their creature cards from their hand of that type, and it wipes out all of the creature of that type they have in play. So if they have a strong legend in play, and a legend in their hand, you just choose the legend type and byebye mr big strong legend. This is an A+ card. Its only fault is its cost. it should be more like b,b,2, because it is more playable that way, and it shows its alignment with evil.
