faeries and elves and lifelink, huh? there's an obvious problem. faeries and elves are both tribes that rely on having a good number of creatures with which to swarm your opponent. in a bant deck this could be great (taking the place of battlegrace angel?) but it's black. elves can win with a lot of 2/2 or *maybe* 3/3 tokens, and thus you gain 3 life (per turn) from this. spectacular? not so much. same story for faeries (bitterblossom plus scion of oona is a popular/common win condition, so...gaining 2 life a turn? no thanks!! actually only one, since bitterblossom pings you during each of your upkeeps)

Okay so faeries are super annoying creatures. When your opponent has to see them every time just popping in and out as though the board was theirs. This card comes in and just annoys the hell out of them; lifelink, 1/1 for 2 tap one swamp and this card.
