absolutely destroys burn decks, and most of red. Stops black discard deck, makes a deck built around liliana useless. Annialator targets the defending player, which is you. So this stops eldrazi ramp decks. Also, cards like Traumatize, or blue decks that are based on killing your library, are useless. My friend plays a black lifedrain deck, and it couldn't do anything to me. anyone who rated this less than four or fire stars doesn't understand how magic works.

Annihilator does not target...it just says defending player sacs x number of creatures. It's still great against discard, burn and mill(okay, if mill was an actual threat).
