Magma Phoenix

This is a very Underrated Card. If i were to use this in a deck, I would so use it on a Black-Red Deck. Use Lord of the Pit, Reassembling Skeleton, Magma Pheonix and Bloodthrone Vampire as the Main Creatures, then you use Vampiric Link as the main Enchantment and Enchant the Vampiric Link on Magma Pheonix and Lord of the Pit, Destroy magma Pheonix, you gain the life back as you use it! Well then there comes Lord of the Pit but whatever.

This is one card most people don't see coming. First off it's inexpensive to buy, kill spells usually end up clearing the board when they hit it, and although expensive; you can bring it back from your graveyard for another go. One easy combo is to attack then fling it, that's 9 damage to your opponent and 3 to every creature. Yes you do loose your weaker creatures but with vengevine and bloodghast running around, you can overrun the board simply by bringing back creatures from your graveyard. It's a creature that few prepare to see and if set up right, wonderful to use.

The phoenix isn't all that awesome as a creature, but its real use lies in its ability - it's a recurring mini-wrath of god, and should be played as such. A hilarious combo would be this, a toughness 7 wall (or a regenerating creature) and pestilence. Cast Phoenix while you have the wall and pestilence in play, swing with Phoenix on the next turn and immediately pump 3 into Pestilence. 9 damage to your opponent, 6 damage to all creatures and you. Fun times.

A creature that can be replayed over and over while sweeping the board for 3 every time it dies just seems awesome. Good converted manacost compared to its abilities, I think the Magma Phoenix deserbes a home in most red burn decks.
