Better than the mind sculptor. Unlike the mind sculptor, he wins you the game FAST. even if he takes 2 more turns to get, he is better. Period. If his +2 ability doesn't somehow work by the time he gets to 8, -7 and tap all that players lands for burn. You seriously cannot lose.

If you are playing vampires. His first ability could be the game winner because the opponent should be dead or close to dead by the time you have six mana. All his abilities are winners. Love how he is getting set up to tell your opponnent "these are not the droids they are looking for" maybe im just seeing things. If vampires were in assassins creed.

First of all, in the 30+ player league I'm in in Chicago, I went undefeated in games where I had Sorin out on the table and pulled off his last ability (I really had to play smart in order to go for the win; even if I couldn't win my next turn I had to plan ahead too). Went 11-0 in games when I took control of another person's turn.

Secondly, he's one of the underrated Planeswalkers. Other than Chandra, he's the only other Planeswalker I can think of in this set or even back to M10 who can directly hurt another Planeswalker.

I.E. with Jace out on the table at 9 loyalty counters, put Sorin out and deal 2 damage to Jace and gain two life. Very little chance Jace can get to -12 power now. Throw him in a vampire deck and you're golden.

wow.. First off, awsome picture! Especially for me who favors black :)

+2 is good, mainly for the fact that its +2 but if you are lucky with the mana-accel and gets this guy out on round two or three then his +2 ability will be very useful for dominating the field free off charge.

-3 is not great but its very good to have in your pocket and also provides a great counter to Nissas "gain two life for every elf" ability. Or any other annoying ability which gives the opponent lots of life that you neither hoped nor planned for.

-7 it is often said whenever a planeswalkers final ability is discussed that they are essentially game winners. This is as true for this card as it is for those, which is not neccasarily but, probably, yes. However, this is definatly one of, if not the, funniest final ability of any planeswalker. Theyre usually "just" a massive verision of an ability found on any number of other cards while Sorin here gives you, to some extent, a slight intellectual challange in making your opponents round as useless and damaging for him as possible. FUN!

Only drawback is mana cost. But hey, its black so.. anyone who knows black shouldnt have any problems.

One of the best planeswalkers ever printed. His +2 ability is great, his -3 is ok, and his -7 is insane. Apart from the clear awesomeness of the card, look at the artwork. Sorin is by far, the best-looking planeswalker ever made. He looks like he's looking straight at you. Bravo Michael Komarck!

with a bunch of timewarps, magosi, the waterveils and a gilder bairn or more your opponent won't even get to play once you put this guy out onto the battlefield. goes perfectly with green-blue-black like the deck i always use. no doubt the best planeswalker ever printed, maybe with the exception of nicol bolas.

Just the fact that his final ability allows you to take essentially three turns in a row is insane!!! You get him down to one after you use his ability, and by the time your opponent can take another turn, he could possibly be back up to 5!! Absolutely nuts.

Sorin is just an all-around great Planeswalker! I really recommend this card for anyone who loves to play mono black decks. I have two of them in my deck and nothing angers my friend more than this guy. The nice thing is if you don't think you are going to be able to use his third ability, you can make an opponent's life total become ten!

Awesome abilities, but the manacost is just a bit too high. Would have been really good at 2BBB, but as he is, his manacost overlaps with Grave Titan, meaning most players will opt to go with the Titan instead of Sorin.
Still a good card though, and a really good "budget" solution to the Titan, except of course you can have multiple Titans on the field, but only one Sorin at a time :/

Or with the exception of Garruk, Elspeth, and Tezzeret... just saying.

A great planeswalker.
Especially in twilight (vampire) deck.
His 2nd ability works very well with bloodghast, guul draz vampire, and vampire lacelator.

While Sorin is a great card, his mana cost is too steep for me for a planeswalker. He was designed for vamps, and you should be winning by turn 6 as is with vamps.
