DescriptionPremiered at Origins ''93 in July of that year, Magic: The Gathering; was first released to the general public on August 5, 1993. The Alpha set consisted of 295 cards. After the Alpha print run of 2.6 million cards, some corrections were made and the remaining 7.3 million cards were released as the Beta set (302 cards). With this complete set you get one non-foil version of each card. This Alpha starter tournament deck comes with 60 mint cards.

Of the 295 cards in the Alpha set, the most famous cards are: Black Lotus, Ancestral Recall, and Mox Sapphire.

Indeed a great investment, and you can't scan these packs like you can with boosters. There are several rares included and they are needless to say, VERY sought after in gem mint condition. You might not pull a Black lotus but there are lots of other lovely treasures like the five Mox cards, ancestral recall, dual lands etc.

There aren't many of these packs remaining and frankly, one shouldn't open it. Just owning one and wondering what's inside would make anyone crazy. But it's a piece of history

For the love of God, if you have one of these with the original packaging and plastic wrap intact, don''t ever open it. Chances of a power nine is extremely low, and these are worth way more unopened.
