Marath is a surprisingly strong commander. He grows huge with time, in time becoming large enough to assassinate other commanders and eventually growing into a game-ending threat. His ability to create tokens is useful in many situations. In particular, having Marath explode into an army of tokens in response to a removal spell or a Control Magic (-type spell) is really handy.

As strong as Marath is, however, his deck sadly lacks in power. The deck has 3 sub-strategies: ramp, beast tribal and "power 5 or greater matters". While it can be good to have different ways to win the game, Marath's deck spreads itself too thin and ends up not doing anything particularly well. The deck only runs around 10 creatures with power 5 or greater, so Mayael rarely hits anything; the deck runs a whopping 42 lands, so you'll often times find yourself drawing too much land; and the deck doesn't really run a lot of beasts, so cards like Ravenous Baloth don't really do anything.

In conclusion, this is a messy deck that will often times ride Marath to victory while yawning at almost every card it draws from the library. Marath is strong enough to give the deck a fighting chance versus the other Commander decks, but there's certainly plenty of room for improvement depending on where you want to go with the deck.
