But how do you keep an island untapped everyturn? Btw the art is great compared to Fork which is two cookies getting struke by lightning.

I've made several stasis variations but the best one ive made was with temporal adept and vedalkin mastermind. Both cards can bounce the stasis up for you to untap before you replay it and temporal adept can also bounce stuff up into your opponents hand. Evil card.

Not the worst M:TG art ever, as even the simplest of drawings can convey an idea. It may not be as advanced visually as the cards in recent sets, but there's a lot you can take from the picture if you just think about it a little more deeply. The cunning fox is blinded, the dancing clown trying to maintain equilibrium, both teetering together trying to stay balanced or risk falling down, the moon and its ebbs and flows (again, balance) and the supposed artist's easel, which may signify the many choices the controller needs to consider when maintaining Stasis, etc. That's basically the idea behind the card: controlling the game, keeping not only your opponent in check, but allowing yourself enough breathing room to function properly. The fact that the art is childlike only adds to the feeling that though there's complexity to be dealt with, there's a very simple, basic way to handle it.

WORST. MAGIC CARD ART. EVER... Also most annoying card in the history of MtG besides maaaaybe Tolarian Academy. (And yes, I occasionally rock a Stasis deck, so don't think I don't also secretly love the pure evil that is Stasis myself from time to time. Except I use it as stall/temporary lock in a deck that actually has a few creature based ways to win... and Ophidian. I said I had an evil side right?)

Fearsome combo card, annoying by its lonesome... crappy card art. Stasis is all that and more....

For best results couple with Mind Over Matter, Library of Leng, and card draw tricks (Kami of the Crescent Moon, Howling Mine, and so on)... Infinite Lockdown with the ability to actually keep itself out of total lockdown... and all Blue. Splash white for annoying life gains, protections, and Kismet.

One of the most devastating cards in the M:TG universe, Stasis puts a firm grip on your opponent by not only rendering their tapped creatures worthless, but their tapped resources as well. Use Stasis in conjunction with Kismet for a truly frustrating move. (Kismet forces all of target opponent's permanents to come into play tapped.) I play a three-color Stasis deck (blue, white and green) and I also use Birds of Paradise with Instill Energy, Serra Angels and various support cards like Howling Mine, Time Elemental, Mana Short, Reminisce/Regrowth and other little nuisances that my opponents dislike. ..and of course, Black Vise is yet another very good card to use in this deck.

An excellent card when used properly, this is one of the best ways to counter the necro deck.

My friends call me STASIS i simply love the card have played with it since i started playing for 8 years ago. The best is when i got the lock and my opponent starts crying over and over and again. They wont let me play with it any more.

many people see this card as a sucky one because its total lock down but i have built an entire deck around by using kismet, chronatog, howling mine, black vise, and counter spells.get the drift here

I use Stasis In a blue-black deck using Demonic Tutor to find it and the new Frozen Aether from Planar Chaos, with Reminisce and Glimpse the Unthinkable. After that the game is OVER. HEE! HEE! HEE!

Stasis can be truly evil in the right deck, but I am here to say that I think that the only thing more boring to play than a stasis deck is a red burn deck...snore...snore...snore
