Volrath is a nasty creature. just keep discarding creatures you don't need and when you have a good amount of creatures in your graveyard, bust out a Sutured Ghoul for a huge zombie with trample. Those cards work wonders together.

Play Volrath, discard Drago to it's ability and play Fling to sac it and deal 22 damage.

Two cards -- Volrath + Gleancrawler -- Add a primal rage for trample effect = mega volrath. I'm considering building a deck round this combo as I type.

This card goes great with my green, white, and black deck from the judgment deck. It also speeds up the process for threshold abilitys.

This would be good in a spirit deck. regenerating the sacrificed creatures would not work because that would put the creatures into play rather than your hand. With soulshift you could repeatedly cycle cards from your had to the grave yard It is way better the BFM

Utterly destructive. A fine kill-card. As in, one-hit kill. Very highly recommended.

This card deserves 10 stars. Discard scion of darkness, give him + 8/8 then bring scion to play with doomed necromancer. Excellent in a reanimator.

Note to other players, you cant regenerate a discarded creature, although using a combo with my blue/black deck with Equilibrium, Draco, Gravedigger, Stormscape familiars, i have had my volrath boosted over the 100/100 mark, this is a nice creature (oh unglued cards like BFM aren't legal, so no point comparing BFM unless you have lotsa unglued and play complete unglued, or don't play with proper rules)

#5 you're a dumbass and a newbie you can't regenerate cards you discard from your hand but volrath is a really good card when mixed with fear and madness cards

I dont really want to comment on this card but to really comment on one of its reviwers. What are you talking about #5. Do you even read cards or do u just think that they are cool because of the picture? I mean what is this? First, you cannot regenerate and discard. Second, you can't regenerate sacrifice. Third, that is not even what the card does.

Love this card. If you can sacrifice something huge like a Draco from Planeshift,16 casting cost. Watch out, cause Volrath is going to trample all over you.

Alright you little newbies for those who dont have a clue what this card is for and why i rated it 5 stars I'll tell ya. You gotta get a card that is from the Scourge(new) series called Twisted Abomination its a 5/3 with Regenerate and costs 5S (1 swamp 5 generic mana) in other words you keep sacrificing him and power up Volrath by 6 every time you sacrifice him and the good thing is that you can keep doing it cuz it only costs one swamp in order to regenerate. So I have one message for BFM...you seriously suck. Why? cuz you can make Volrath a 200/200 if you like and have the time REGENERATE CARDS KICK MAJOR BUTT USE EM

I think this card is awsome. In a deck to play your friends with, put creatures like Hypnox (or Draco as a card to serve this purpose exactly) and you got a seriously strong card and use Dauthi Embrace and you not only have a super strong card but a card that can attack the player directly. And for those of you who think,

hey idiot! you can't sacrifice a creature and then regenerate it. what are you talking about. who's the newb? that's right, you are....

volrath is a cool card... most legends are cool even if they aren't good.

you people are over rating power. I can easily use an elf deck and get as much mana as i want and unlimited untaping powers which leads to as much life and power for my creatures as I want. This is a good card but nothing compared to my elves. Also considering it doesn't have trample it becomes less effective, so give it trample. And remember, even a giant creature dies to destory cards. And it doesn't keep getting bigger like other creatures can, it only last a turn making it less effective.
