I bought a mint Zodiac Dragon back years ago off of a website a lot cheaper, but its still worth a lot today.

First - Why it is to this day worth a lot. "Portal Three Kingdoms was released mainly in Asia-Pacific markets" according to a site I looked it up on. So not printed in the U.S.A or anywhere else hardly at all (if ever).

Yes it's not a flyer, but unless it's removed from play it WILL be coming back. I have a red/white sneak attack (http://www.trollandtoad.com/p88549.html) deck and play with ZD in it. He is great considering I use Angelic Chorus, Proper Burial and just a recent addition Phyrexian Processor. I've had in the past with the help of ZD and Serra Avatar and other creatures that "don't die or go away" from sneak attack won a 5 hour long game with a little bit over 8 million life.

So in short, is he great in any deck with red? No maybe not, but in a sneak attack deck Zodiac Dragon is godly. 1 red mana for a 8/8 that comes back to my hand at the end of any turn (even as defense on your opponent's turn) I will rate at nothing less then 5 stars!!

In Chinese mythology dragons don't have wings, hence no flying. With sneak attack, this baby just keeps coming back for more.

Sure he isnt so great at first look, but it's a great for collectors, i have him in my dragon collection. Hes not very easy to find, thats another reason hes so expensive.

I am the proud owner of a zodiac dragon and its pride of place in my red black domination deck (strip mines, demonic hoardes, dark rituals etc, its expensive but the look on your opponents faces when it hits the table priceless!

The #1 Discard chassy in all of magic!!! Use zombie infestation*? Or make some use of that junk golem* or Mindless Automaton? Mesmeric Trance* works well so long as you have a power conduit to controll that cumulative upkeep. But in the end the combo i use this with is Mind Over Matter*

For those of you who don't feel this is a great card, consider using this with Psychatog...

The value of this card is primarily centered around the fact that one can discard endlessly. Of course, there is a multitude of examples, but one might pair this up with Jalum Tomb. Draw a card for 2 colorless every round? Yikes...that's quite an advantage. That, however, would be one of the more simple combos. Want something with a little more teeth? Try using this with Masticore...

Finding examples of how to actually play it (like with Sneak Attack) is all icing on the cake in my mind.

I have this card proxied... yeah, its cheap, but I only play among close friends and they dont care. Its an awsome card.. even without trample and flying. I have cards that could give it both of those effects anyway. Its awesome because like everyone else has said.. this thing never dies. But I'd never pay that much for it... -ever-.

This card isnīt for playing, itīs for discarding... No one plays this as a creature, just mind that with a zodiac on your hand you can discard endlessly...

The main and probably only reason why i would give this 5 stars is because with Sneak Attack it ranks high up there with one of the best card combos in the game.

I think it is a really good card because of how good it is and how old it is that is y the price is so high but i think that card will work in about any red deck or any deck that has red in it of how good that card is

Yo, what are you talking about? Even w/out flying and trample it's still a kick-butt card. You could always equip it with stuff to make it have flying and trample, anyway.

Have any body heard of Sneak Attack (Urza Saga). Use it and Zodiac Dragon and/or Shivan Phoenix.

HAIYACHA!! This card is unstoppable!!! The only way this card can be destroyed for good is being removed from the game, but it would return to your hand before your opponent could remove it!!! The only cards that could stop this card would have to be Nightmares, which hardly anyone uses. Sure it's costly, but how on earth do people get Hypnoxes and BFM's into play at 15 swamps?? There is the infamous Krosan Hulk(9/9), But it's painfully slow to get him onto the field. This is the most expensive card you'll wanna play, but if you have it, either sell it for Major Mulla or use it!!!

I own one. Though it is errata'ed that it only comes back from play it is a real killer with Sneak Attack.

I agree this card is godly with Sneak Attack, but I don't understand what Chinese mythology has to do with anything. In European mythology, dragons do have wings. What does this have to do with MTG?

This card has some cool combo potential, but the very idea of a dragon that doesn't fly offends me. I wouldn't normally pay even $8 for a non-flying dragon, but $150???? It sucks that this card is so rare, because I think that accounts for a lot of the coolness factor... that and it's probably the most freakin' obscure dragon ever printed, which makes fanboys (even ones as cynical as me) drool.

Zodaic Dragon is one bad mutha considering it costs nine for an 8/8 w/flying, but how many zodiac dragons have you seen so far? It is very likly this is your first as of me. Wish i could buy it. It would be a worthwhile investment.

i bought a few boosters for this set a couple of years ago , and luckily i got one of these, this may look pretty on paper but it is a lame addition to a deck, i sold mine on ebay making my self about Ģ100, the best thing to come out of this set has to be horsemanship!

For starters, I agree with the dude that said that a dragon without flying is offensive. But more importantly, I am quite sure that you cannot discard endlessly with this. The return to hand effect only triggers when it goes to the graveyard from play, not from anywhere else. And to the guy who said that if it was removed from the game, it would be returned to your hand first, no, it won't. Cards removed from the game don't go to the graveyard, so the Dragon's ability will not be triggered.

I understand why this card was good when it was first printed, but the only reason why it's good now is probably because it has collector's status? There's no other reason why this would cost this much...
