DescriptionThe Alpha set was designed by Richard Garfield and released in August of 1993.  This set consists of 295 cards, 74 common, 95 uncommon and 116 rares with 10 lands.  Alpha cards have black borders.  There is no set symbol for this set.  The easiest way to discern an Alpha card is the more rounded corner.   The estimated print run was 2,600,000 cards.

Cards of note in this set are many, including the Power Nine cards at the top of the heap. Ancestral Recall, Black Lotus, Mox Emerald, Mox Jet, Mox Pearl, Mox Ruby, Mox Sapphire, Timetwister & Time Walk make up the Power Nine.  Additionally Dual Lands, Birds of Paradise, Serra Angel, Sol Ring & many other notable cards are found throughout the set.

This is the Power Nine card I want above the rest. I love my Time Warp, but it is nothing when compared to this. And of course, the illustration is fantastic.

This is a great card for any Type I deck... heck, its great for any format it is legal in.

For all those posting that they" put this card on a stick.. meaning they use it with Isochron scepter, you are very ignorant people. Scepter only imprints instants, Time Walk is a soccery. You either don't know how to plat Magic The Gather or are cheating with very expensive cards.

This in my opinion is by far one of the most powerful cards ever made for MTG.

A shockingly good card, this is easily one of the best cards ever made. How anyone could rank this less than 5 stars is beyond me. To take another turn, at the amazingly cheap cost of 2 converted mana, is stunning. It's effectiveness after a few rounds is ludicrous.

A great card, in combination with new time stop, and time extend, you can make one of the best types of deck: Clones. These types of cards allow you to build up more, also good if used with doubling season and roar of the wurm. <3

Their is a reason that this card is as expensive as it is, and there is a reason it has been restricted as long as there has been a restricted list. Its because its flat out an incredible card that can be splashed into nearly every competitive T1 deck.

Decent, but just not good enough to earn a spot in my red sly. I gived these to people that just start magic for a small taste of decent, yet never used cards. They can play around with it and experts, such as I, will not look down upon them too much for using it. Once they get better cards it will obviously rotate out, but until then its a nice little placeholder.
