I have 4 in my white deck. I also have 4 Quicksilver Amulets (4;tap: Choose a creature card in your hand and put that creature into play.) I use 4 flickering wards to give it protection from certain colors, and have a bunch of solitary shadow creatures to do the damage for me. I enchant them with spirit links and play Noble Purpose to keep my life up against burn decks. With my deck the casting cost is never an issue and I usually don't have to worry about anyone destroying it. Definitely a good card if you like white decks.

Who cares how expensive it is?! It's worth every bit of its mana cost if it can stop your opponent from attacking the rest of the game

I have only ever played against this card. It came out against a mono-green deck I sometimes play. Without creature removal, you're pretty much toast. So anyone who likes to play a mono-green deck is now going to have to splash some black into there or white with some tapping and a Vengeance to follow up. Red perhaps might work but it'd have to be something big, like maybe a Glacial Ray followed by a Crushing Pain. Blue could send it back to the players hand and counter right after. But I believe this card spells the end for mono-green. Imagine this card sitting on the table next to a Privileged Position... sick.

Has won me several games, used it with a reanimate deck. Too slow to hard cast though. Stops agro cold! Has held off several opponents in multi player chaos.

hard-casting it is...extremely unlikely! very nice for reanimation decks. beyond that and without stuff like quicksilver amulets, it's hard to justify running more than one or two. they're certainly game-winners, though...

As much as I would love to give this card a four or even five, it's way to costly. In Block Constructed, the games are usually over before this beast can hit the field. Three white mana is also hard to come by sometimes.

In Draft, you pick this only because you don't want to take the chance of someone actually getting this guy out.

On the flip side, this card is an excellent choice for U/W control. It is a great substitute for those who don't have Moats or Teferi's Moats. It's guaranteed to see play in that type of format (vintate/T1).

The only use for this card I can find is to sideboard in vintage Oath vs Goblins or other aggro,
