Circu, Dimir Lobotomist

not too great, but the spell stopping can be okay. too much for a 2/3

The key to this guy is an old card: Elemental Augury. It's 3 color, so it's hard to bring out. But it lets you rearrange the top three cards of the player's library as you see fit, so you can really target your uses of Circu. I use both Circu and Millstones in my Augury deck, and it basically means that they only have their hand to work with, as I can feed them land easily enough. And Circu can work against that too if he removed a copy of that card from the game earlier.

I disagree this card is a great card. Way better then szdek who is also good. But szadek has a defect. He could only take cards off the top he cant deal battle damage. Now circu is good cuz of transmute. Transmute a bunch of dimir infiltrators and he loses almost his whole deck cuz of circus third ability. Shaun also if you run the dimir put in 4 boomerangs and 4 jesterscepters.... Trust me they work ;)

One of the best control cards in standard and is reminiscent of the super powered meddeling mage. Only he can make most of what the opponent will play unplayable... and thats cool. Just look at the guy doesn't he just look Royal assasin nasty, we'll he is.

This card is realy awsome! I got one in a booster 5 days ago and put together a blue/black mill deck. Together with transmuting a Dimir House Guard and giving Circu regeneration it was really fun. Competitively I think the card can be out of hand, given you are able to protect it.

So this is the deal: You drop Circu, you play a Blue/black spell, you mill your opponent for two and just there you got rid of a possible threat. Your opponent can never play that card again, unless Circu dies!

Decks tested against: Gifts, Mono Black Beatdown(Hand) and Blue Control.

You need to have powerfull mill cards like Glimpse the Unthinkable and Traumatize for the deck to really work, though.

Circu is good, but he's not great. I run a Dimir deck and I just have to say that there are better cards out there: like Szadek for instance.
