is everyone kidding? He's only good in a dragon deck? His best ability is his FREE one. CARD ADVANTAGE.

for those of you who don't know, his first ability is best used when the last two have been exhausted. he made dragons. he did tons of damage. now its time to draw me an extra card or two.

Sarkhan the mad is a great card. I run two in a jund deck i play along with a sarkhan vol. Just to pull twenty damage without attacking.

I'll run two Mad in my Grixis control...with halimar Depths and Ponder I check out my top deck and I put the lowest casting cost first or second dependently if it with Ponder or Halimar and if it's a land that's WONDERFUL!!!

Turn 5 instant win: Play Sarkhan Vol 4th turn, use his first ability. 5th turn use his final, 5 4/4 dragons for you. That turn, play Sarkhan the Mad, and bang. 20 damage to the opponent, only counterable, or lightningboltable. Jund is powerful, too bad Sarkhan Vol isn't in standard, or this may be a deadly combo. Not the best combo, but one that can work in casual play. At first glace Sarkhan 2.0 seems crappy. But paired with his earlier counterpart, they could spell out a 5th turn death blow.

He is a very good planeswalker the best in some cases. He is an automatic win button in a dragon deck use his final and win the game. His minus 2 is not bad I could go for sacrificing a weenie for a 5/5 flyer. Anyway he is pretty good, but only really good in a dragon deck

Personally i dislike his nickname of "Sarkhan the Bad" i think hes a fantastic card, you just need to know how to use him like most cards. My friend has had me use Sarkan Vol's ultamate making 20 power worth of dragons, and then cast this guy and use his ultamate for 20 damage without even attacking. Yeah its to bad he dosnt have a plus ability but really not many planeswalkers actually get the chance to use there ultamate. This guy can use it rigth away, now granted if you have lots of power worth of dragons your probably winning already or are going to soon. It's still a fantastic card, dark confidant ability for free, turn a crappy eldrazi token into a 5/5 flying beat stick or nuke someones face off without even having to attack. Say goodbye to getting stuck behind a war tax or ghostly prison. I give him 3 ½ stars for abilitys, plus an additional star for the grunt my friends make when i play him and use his ultamate. Sadly i can't give him ½ stars so ill just settle for 4.

P.S Dragons are THE S*** and sarkhan is one of the cooler planeswalkers for worshiping them.

With Proliferate, Sarkhan has become a very viable Planeswalker. Splash red for Mark of Mutiny or Act of Treason, and steal your opponents' creatures and sac them into dragons. Then Proliferate Sarkhan back to 4+ and send the damage away. VERY effective against creature decks, but against control or mill he's kinda weak.

His first ability seems to be more for landfall decks or weenie.

If you can find a way to pump up his counters (maybe in legacy, or even vintage), then you can drop out at least 1 or two 5/5 dragon tokens then pull off his -4 ability to shoot your opponent before you even attack. Heck, put this in a dragon storm deck just for fun.
