!!! I can't believe I didn't think of this before... Use with Leyline of Vitality, Gaea's Anthem, or any other static pump effect and Sekki become virtually indestructible because his effect prevents said damage(Damage can't be prevented, Exile, and Destroy effect will still Ice him though), and even if he doesn't have the +1/+1 counters to remove you still put a 1/1 colorless Spirit token into play for each damage (and gain 1 life aswell if using the Leyline) !!! Just to be really dumb you could then just Pariah him. Lol!

One of my favorite cards from the Kamigawa Block. I combo'd this with Pandemonium for an unlimited damage loop and I can get it out sooner than hardcasting him with either Quicksilver Amulet or Surprise Deployment. With a BoP excelling the deck from turn 1 or 2, I can kill by turn 4 but most commonly it's a turn 5 win deck.

I really like the Art and Flavor of this card and would like to find more uses for it other than Johnny Combo

I run this guy with twilight drover, life spinner, and briarknit kami, all the tokens sacrificed go onto the twilight driver as 1/1 counters then i remove a few counters and double my tokens sacrificed as well as giving them flying, also getting my legendary cards out fast and beefing everything up.

Sekki is a must for my strategy

The tokens are not fliers; I stand corrected. Regardless, it's still a good deal.

You are incorrect in stating that the counters need to be removed to generate the tokens. The token-generating effect is not contingent on the counters being removed. The two events occur in parallel. It's like having a spell that reads, "Gain 3 life and draw a card". You draw a card whether or not you successfully gain the life (maybe you were hit with a Stigma Lasher earlier, who knows) because one is not contingent on the success of the other.

Wow, you're bad at this. First, those tokens aren't fliers. Second, you need to remove counters to make the tokens.
buffing him = bad idea. once you buff him, he's less useful. try something like leyline of the meek instead.

Cards that act like multiple cards are always fairly strong (Cloudgoat Ranger, Spectral Procession, Siege-Gang Commander, etc.). Even if you let Sekki die forever, you got 8 1/1 fliers out of it, which is arguably better than a single 8/8 creature (harder to block, increased returns on Gaea's Anthem, Sigil Blessing, etc.). Not to mention that, with said Gaea's Anthem, he'll never die (from damage). His damage prevention/spirit generation effect is not contingent on those counters actually being present. Even once they're gone, he'll churn out spirit tokens for every damage he takes. Also, because he has a 0 power in the graveyard, you can Reveillark him back into play if he ever does die. He's a bit hard to cast unless you're using Elvish Piper-style shenanigans, but if you're in a slow format (such as EDH), he'd be a ton of fun and quite powerful.

Umm...wow. This card is absolutely amazing. First of all, it's an 8/8 for 8...the GGG in the cost shouldnt be a problem later on in the game. Best of all, it comes back full-power as soon as it dies!! One little problem is does have, though, it that if a single one of the Tokens gets killed, it's in your yard for good, which makes its effect totally pointless, at least the last part of it.
