if you can manage to splash for these in an elf deck...do so. getting 6 elves by turn 4 or 5 isn't tough. getting this out on turn 5 with harbingers and special lands = swinging for 16 damage per turn...ouch.

Put 2 into a Primordial Jund deck devour all the tokens now you have a great dragon. devour only 3 tokens and see your opponents face when he/she sees a 10/10 dragon with haste coming at them :)

If it's countered you don't even have to opportunity to devour, it has to come into play first be that ability can trigger. But then, all the bounce and remove there is it does have it's drastic down fall. My suggestion is using with Fling. Devour up to the "kill potential" and attack with it. if opponent responds to the attack, then fling for the kill instead; simple enough.

Of course by that time with an all red deck... turn 6+ you should have already won so it's hard to say.

the best use i've found out of these guys is w/ all Zero Drops from magic + Glimpse of Nature. Turn 1: Taiga, or a fetch land and get a Tiaga. Glimpse of Nature. Play out all 0 drops you have, ornithopter, phyrexian walker, kobolds of kher keep, crimson kobold, etc. remove a elvish spirit guide in all that mayhem and play a Tinder Wall. Turn 2: Any land should be sufficiant. Sac Tinder Wall for (2)R Mana mana ramp with seethering song and it's a win... I have found this guy works better in storm than running out of spell steam and only Grape Shot for 9+ and not win----lose you win condition and scoop, lol.

Although I have been looking for a better win condition with this guy than a combo deck that can be screwed over with just 1 Chalise of the Void for zero....5 Star for flavor and potential. 3.5-4 Star in actual tourney

To the comment above.. lol Why on earth would u waste 4 slots in a deck that can get 1000 1/1's into play with a dragon.. so that u can potentially lose all the 1/1s and have ur dragon countered.. returned to ur hand.. or destroyed? cause more than likely getting a predator drag in play will come the turn after u got ur saprolings.. so u could just attack with them. I see this as being used well in a Elf Grenade or similar deck... good ol 2nd-3rd turn 20+/20+. after they tapped out of course.. Used to be killer in extended.. not as good anymore though..

This in my saproling deck will eat like 10000 saprolings a turn! (I have my methods of giving it back to me!) Thats a 20000/20000 Dragon with flying and haste! In-freaking-sane!

This card goes well with certain decks, if you can team this card up with some cards that continuously produces 1/1 creatures each turn. 4 of these in a deck will give pain to your opponent.
