I want it. I picture ideal hand being turn 1 forest and llanowar elves, turn 2 sac a simian and elvish spirit guide, cast sarkhan. Turn 3 Rings of Brighthearth, use sarkhan to untap llanowar, use its ability to double this effect (it doesnt have to target any creatures as it says 'up to'). turn 4 use ultimate ability and rings of brighthearth. TEN DRAGONS on turn 4.

thats the dream anyway

Altought I had a Few problems With this planeswalker at first. Find Combos with this card is not hard. Legacy with Doubling Season, ya, and In standard with Roost of Dragons. O.P.

My favorite Planeswalker. Steal a creature, power up your own or put five 4/4 dragons into play. And the card only costs 4, cheap much?

the simple fact that he's in green makes him ridiculous, because he can be easily cast on turn 3 with birds ect.. and that puts his final ability on turn 5. great in jund cause' of sprouting thrinax and sweepers, both of which can keep him away from early damage from creatures.

In my opnion, Sarkhan Vol is definently the best planeswalker their is so far. He easiest to use with the straight forward directions of play him, use +1 effect, use fatties to block for him during opponent's turn, do that once more, then unleash the game winner. Combined with Doubling Season, it will leave any and all with a gaping mouth.

...wow. i dont care if this is a jund card, as soon as i can get my hand on two copies, they're going straight to my naya deck! 4 mana is...awesome. nicol bolas will eat this up the turn he comes into play, but that's turn 8!! by then...that's 5 4/4 dragons staring you down...the threaten is nice, and his first ability is kind of like ajani goldmane's but it can be better or worse... the last ability is game.

A very good card! And the best card to kill the dragons would be echoing truth. Such an insult.
Also the last poster didn't quite read that those are cards to kill the dragons not cards to kill Sarkhan.

Uhhhh... planeswalkers are planeswalkers not creatures so a lot of those cards you named to destroy it won't work.... and please besides elspeth this is easily the best planeswalker... five 4/4s with flying? Yes please.

I have a deck that he seems taylor made for. It's a green red warrior deck with Nacatl War Prides, and Doubling Seasons, and all sorts of other things that make the deck rock your socks off. It's nice to see Chandra pop first turn with doubling season to hit an opponent and all their creatures for ten, but it would be golden to drop 10 4/4 dragons off the get-go with Sarkhan, I wish I had a few for my deck.

rock solid in aggro but in a fight between the tezz-meister-general and sarkhan there would be only one winner. tezz is the nuts!

Or scourglass, reiver demon, plague winds, midnight banshee (slow kill), but I digress. extremly good card only four to play and in two turns can bring out five dragons that just scream death. it's a win card in my opinion.

The best card form shards of Alar. 5 4/4 dragon. Only wrath of god or damnation can remove that.

He is a pretty good planeswalker especially with the help of sarkhan the mad. You can use his ultimate really quickly which is a bonus. Although you need a deck with high aggro to use him he is really good. Nice is you have dragon brood mother or dragonmaster outcast to help him with defense. If you happen to use his final if you have sarkhan the mad in your hand you just won the game.

A really, really good planeswalker, but probably not "the best evar." Best play I have seen so far: my opponent used his second ability to untap and steal my 8/8, flying, first-striking Figure of Destiny. She went on to win that game. My big beef with Sarkhan is that he is purely offensive- playing him with few or no creatures out is pretty bad, as he is a really easy target even though you can use his first ability with no creatures. Ajani and Elspeth are great with or without creatures, as Ajani at least gives you a little life, and Elspeth makes creatures and gets +1 loyalty counters. Garruk gives you 3/3 tokens at the very least. Sarkhan works best, in my opinion, in a very aggressive deck. I sure wish Wall of Roots were still around to give him some defense. My picks for best planeswalker so far? Tie between Ajani Goldmane, Garruk, and Elspeth.

I don't know what everyone else commenting is thinking, but Sarkhan is one of the weakest Planeswalkers, if not THE weakest. He doesn't defend himself as well as most of the other Planewalkers and he is only good when you build around him specifically.

That's not to say he doesn't have his uses. I do plan on using him in a EDH deck that I am making which revolves around creature token creation.
