Scourglass

WoG cant stop enchantments and plainswalkers, or ever get used like an instant. Case point, use master transmuter to swap scourglass into play during your upkeep and pop immediately. Surprise! Plus whatever artifact creatures you use live through this.

I don't even know what to say...in an Esper deck it just kills all of your opponent's non-land permanents...unless their deck is Esper, too...it can be better or worse than wrath of god...depends on how many non-creature non-artifacts your opponent has...and whether his creatures regenerate. obviously broken, though, i know someone with an esper deck that's not that great at all, but when you put these in it just kills your opponent...insane.

Meet the newer, better wrath of god. Remember to use artifact creatures that can attack well.

You're also forgetting that there is another downside to this card, it has to sit out until your upkeep. Until then you might as well put a little sticker on this card that says "remove me". It is good in the correct deck, but timing is important.

@Barachai: actually, you can only use Scourglass's ability as an instant, as you're not allowed to cast sorceries on your upkeep.

@Dinosaur: Nice combo with Master Transmuter - one blue mana to wipe your opponents' boards ouch!

In my honest opinion, Scourglass seems better than Wrath/Day overall. The only downside to Scourglass is that you normally have to wait a turn in order to pop it on your upkeep, whereas Wrath have an immediate effect. However, Scourglass is in most cases one-sided, and takes out Planeswalkers and Enchantments too, as opposed to Wrath/Day. Furthermore, Scourglass can be "cheated" onto the battlefield in various ways - Master Transmuter being one of them - as opposed to Wrath/Day, which in most cases can only be hardcast.
In an Esper deck, I would always prefer Scourglass, however, in an old-school Artifact deck (I'm thinking Mirrodin block here), I would prefer All is Dust.

Definitely not better than Wrath of God, but it is pretty nice. I like to think of this as the new nevinryal's disk. It'll be best now to get rid of planeswalkers. Don't use it too fast but don't wuss out on using it too.
