One of my favorite cards. However, it is not really something to build a deck around though. The trick is to hold off until your opponent has at least creature out before you suspend it. This way your opponent will have to hold off their bigger guys for the five turn or take the hit, hard. This is also a card that your opponent will have to deal with before it comes into play, so it makes for a great magnet for two. Yes, it does have a high converted cost, but that just means it will have to wait for late game. I have three of these in my deck, but they are not their for their devastating effects. I keep them to be used as more of a distraction, a counter magnet, or to slow the opponent for a little bit.

This card's suspend eliminates a lot of its usefulness, ecspecially if you draw later in the game. Its high mana cost is a serious drawback, ecspecially in multi-colored decks due to costing 4 black mana. I use it in a red-black creature destructionburn deck, and I do find its uses. If your oppenent gets something out like nightmare, serra avatar, ancient ooze, solarion, etc. this care is a game ender. I wouldn't put more than 1 in your deck, or use it as a sideboard card. Its hard to use, but still powerful.

When I saw this card I had better hopes for what it actually did. The Pthisis is what (essentially) made Phyrexia and the Phyrexians. THIS CARD SHOULD BE EPIC

This card is good, but the normal converted cost is really high, and the suspend on the card is rediculous. It is good on the fact that damage is delt to the opposing player, especially against a stacking creature (i.e: nightmare!) All and all, it's in between.

decent card. 2 mana to suspend and kill a creature on turn 7 is cool especially if its something of the 5/5ish category. 10 damage is quite painful. however the drawback is that it being suspended gives your oponent plenty of time to prepare for and evade its attack. the last thing you want is it going off on one of your own creatures... say a beefed up korlash. and if you weren't to suspend it... 7 mana is quite the cost.overall i have mixed feelings about this card.
