Great Angel... it's ability force you to play her on turn 4... but that's no problem. We can say she's 3/3 Flying, vigilance for 2WW and untap two lands that you've paid for 2 colorless when she comes into play..... (^^)

You don't "always" kill your opponent on turn 4. Did you've meet WB agro-control deck? First turn Thoughtseize, second turn Hymn Tutorach, third turn Duress and Bitter Blossom, and finally... fourth turn Tidehollow Scolar and Serra Avenger.... Next turn Umezawa's Jitte, equip, and attack. With all of those cards, you can't kill your opponent on turn 4!!

This angel is powerful. She's not just a flying, but also vigilance. Two mana for 3/3 with flying and vigilance.... even the drawback force you to play her on turn 4, it's no problem. In my legacy Fish deck, the Aether Vial helps this card to come out earlier....

She's got a good 3/3 body with evasion and vigilance for 2cc, which would be unbalanced on its own: she's even mono-colored, unlike Watchwolf, which would make her completely SHATTERED if left without a drawback. With the three-turn hiatus Avenger won't single-handedly win any games, but there are plenty of situations where she absolutely shines. She can keep the pressure up after sweeping the board, finish off a weakened player, keep a little mana free on turn 4 to play some removal, or you can even think up some ways to cheat her out earlier. One of the most solid and best-balanced whities out there. 5 stars.

Amazing card, innovative design! Turn four kills in standard are not very common.

An answer to my prayers(you have to see the irony here). A ridiculously cheap angel with vigilance. very powerful early in games especially in all-angel decks when you dont have tons of mana to summon other beefy angels(angel deck users, you know what i mean). as previously stated, not a game critical card but very convinient. put as many as you can in your deck.

One of the best cards in the set

The power in Time Spiral is simply crazy. From the "reprints" of cards like Black Lotus and Ancestral Recall to the new possible powerhouses in the set. This card is perfect in it's simplicity. It won't single handedly win games but it sure will help a lot. Bravo Wizards!

If you're playing white and you aren't playing this, you should be.

Great card. I use in U/W control where I''d need those 1-2 lands open on Turn 4+ for counterspells, then just outswing them as 3 dmg will likely get through each turn and block their weak stuff. Though, I do find this a little lack-luster with weenie builds as I''d rather have efficient removal in her slot for turn 4+ plays

Good card, but not extraordinary

This card sees play in legacy white decks. Used with aether vial to keep the pressure on after an armegeddon clears out all lands. The deck is filled with 2 drops, and this is one of the best white has to offer.

Turn one: Noble Hierarch. Turn two: Ardent Plea into one of these or one of the many two-drops that Bant has. Turn three: bring the pain.

Serra Avenger is one of the greatest white cards I've laid my eyes on for a long time. This card is extremely destructive with exalted or backed up with anthems. Vigilance, Flying, 3/3, 2 mana? If this card had been printed later than Shards of Alara, it would almost certainly be myth rare...

And you're right - 4 turn kills don't happen very often in today's standart. Furthermore, most of the players would rather want a longer game to make it more exiting.

Pretty awesome for 2 white mana, but the restiction of not being able to play it before turn 4 is a little annoying I must say. Anyway, it sure is a great feeling when you play two of these on turn four (unless your opponent is playing with Raking Canopy :S)

This card begs to be played in W/B control or, simply enough, white defense. Easily within the top ten creatures in Time Spiral. Go get some.

I pulled this card in a Timespiral draft tournament; it's a good staple card. It won't win games but it sure is a force to be reckoned with!

you are all wrong this card is useless. If you build a deck right third turn the game is about over what good is a card that can only help you fourth turn. sad
