Awsome card......... Especially for reanimate decks. Talk about speed heres speed....... first turn... Swamp, Dark ritual, putrid imp, discard any big creature from your hand (my preference is akroma or kokusho) to give the imp flying, then use on of the 2 mana floating for reanimate and bring that big creature back, granite you lose the life of the power of that creature and take 1 point mana burn but if you know how to play a black deck that doesn't matter. And plus if you do it with akroma thats 6 to the face of your apponite on the first turn being akroma has haste. Now thats speed.

As a stand-alone card, it's pretty good. One black for a 1/1 would be nice, but this is a 1/1, potentially flying, and it's a Zombie. Put this in a madness deck, and you could be tossing out Basking Rootwallas in no time.

Best opening hand ever: 1 Dark Ritual, 1 Black Mana, 2 Putrid Imps, 3 Basking Rootwallas, and 1 Strength of Lunacy. 4 1/1's, and 1 3/2 (Protection from White) on the opening turn, for one black mana. Fear the madness.

first turn ''dark ritual'' one for ''imp'' then discard'' Reya dawnbringer'' the other 2 use ''exhume'' to return ''reya ''to play most likely your opponent doesnt have anything in graveyard and no mana to counter because its still first turn. ''Reya'' will bring to play anything you discard to the graveyard at upkeep so go ahead and discard another creature say like ''anger ''giving her haste to attack and each creature to come. ''Putrid Imp'' is a must for recurring decks, period! its the best at what it does.

well, i've been trying for 4+years to build a serious tournament caliber "reanimation" type deck in the 1.5 scene. what i like to call the unholy pentagram of such decks is as follows; mana acceleration, graveyard dumping, graveyard recursion, card drawing, and evil nasties that do all the damage. and in 1.5, i might add that speed is a humongous additional factor, especially with a "reanimation" type deck that has limited answers for other archetypes if it doesn't consistently and efficiently do the job time and again by setting up the board in your favor the first few turns with overwhelming threats too numerous for your opponent to handle. with that large preamble, this card, along with 'bazaar of baghdad,' loosens the "g'vner" on the speedometer quite a bit. also, along with 'bazaar of baghdad,' has a very good chance of getting around control decks. another point of fact is that even without 'dark ritual' it lets you animate a creature from your graveyard second turn more consistently. in conclusion, the deck theme is still SLIghtly subpar , but this card allows you see the goal within the distance. recommend..............
