ok i could see this becoming truly amazing if u found away to give it first strike. because u only have to sac permanents it is DELT damage so if u give the negator firstrike then this could become very lethal with no downfall

I used to love this guy back in the day when I played classic suicide black in legacy. Sadly he's not quite as good these days with all the tarmogoyf's and whatnot in the meta ; - ( Playing Unearth on Negator after your opponent just busted up your permanents is always fun.

put this card in a black and green saporling deck with grave pact. Then just sack some saporlings and take some of his creatures with them.

The best black creature against heavy-control decks. If you can manage to get one of these out on the first turn, they have only four turns to deal with it through bounce or with their little wimpy creatures. If you can back this baddie up with disruption like HtT, Duress, and Sinkhole, there's not much that can be done by your opponent.
IMO better than Juzam versus control decks, as long as it is not a deck like fish, with lavamancers, fire/ice, and lightning bolt.

A 5/5 trample for 3...The best black creature ever. No matter the drawback, it will blow your opponent away in no time!

Great card. One downside, if you can't play it early in the game, namely the first two turns, don't bother.

this is a fun fun card to play with, but in unskilled hands its as lethal, if not more so than a Lord of the Pit had a match that went like this :negator guy(first turn negator!grrr) me:(first turn shock! haha!) second turn negator guy: "umm i quit..."

mother of runes? Inviolability? Tons of fun stuff

No one above has mentioned the most amazing combination this card has: Mother of Runes, second turn Dark Ritual and then Negator! Use the Mother to give the Negator protection from whatever color your opponent is using, then blow them away in four turns.

A great card, however you can't sac the Negator to prevent sacing permanents.

Very nice, but don't ritual it first turn if u don't know what your enemy is playing (could be sligh).

Surprisingly good in Type I against control decks (and let's face it, control is 90% of Type I). First turn Negator, and they don't have a

I think Phyrexian Negator is a really great card because on the first turn you can use Dark Ritual to get three black mana and then use those to bring out the 5/5 Trample. Your opponent can't do much to stop it on the second turn and since it tramples, it makes the card even harder to stop. The sacrifice downfall that comes with the card isn't so bad because if you want to keep your permanents then all you have to do is sacrifice the Negator. I give Phyrexian Negator four stars becasue it is a really useful card in fast black decks.

Giving it first strike will help in combat, but not when it is dealt direct damage. If it was hit with a Lightning Bolt, first strike would not save you from having to sac 3 permanents.

pHYREXIAN nEGATOR IS A GREAT CARD FOR JUST THREE MANA AND IT IS A 5/5 WITH TRAMPLE WHICH MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE YOUR OPPONENT SURVIVE THIS BEAST'S FEROSCIOUS ATTACK. THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES IT A 3 STAR IS THAT IT HAS A HORRIBLE EFFECT THAT WHENEVER IT ATTACKS YOU HAVE TO SACRIFICE A PERMANENT IF IT DID NOT HAVE THAT BAD OF AN EFFECT IT WOULD BE 5 STARS

Josh from Newburg, not only can you choose to sac this guy to himself, but your opponent can actually force you to do so. If you have 2 swamps and a negator in play, and your opponent Lightning Bolts your Negator, guess what?... you have to sac all three of your permanents. I can see the appeal of this card, but it is just way too risky for me personally.
