Stroke of Genius > Braingeyser. Why? It's an instant, while Braingeyser is a sorcery. Players can use cards like Reset and High Tide to generate immense amounts of mana during your OPPONENTS turn, decking for the win. Stroke, being an instant, can do this, while Braingeyser, a sorcery, cannot. This is why Stroke is restricted in Type I, while Braingeyser isn't.

A card that should be in all blue control decks. This brilliant crad can turn a mana flodd into sheer brilliance and can save your cards against a fast aggro deck. All inall I love it

"will never see a replacement"? this card is a replacement already for braingeyser and it's still too powerful.
