Hypno is a jerk
Aquapolis series Pokemon cards got rid of the interesting Pokedex entries, but at least the free space allowed more attacks and Poke-powers to be added. I thought it was because Nintendo/GameFreaks didn't want to keep paying a guy to write them, but it's actually because all that info is encoded in the E-Reader strip along the border. You remember E-Readers for the Game Boy Advance, right? Yeah, me neither. Let's examine this card and try to understand what's going on in the picture. Is that Hypno eating some kind of amorphous substance coming out of a little kid's sleeping body? Are Hypnos are so messed-up that they'll break into your home at night and eat stuff coming out of you!? I don't know how parents can complain about Pokemon, they remind kids of the small but important things in life, like locking your doors and windows at night SO MONSTERS WON'T EAT YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS. And keep in mind, this what a normal Hypno does, now imagine what that Dark Hypno is capable of. *shudder*While many cards look good as a holo, I think the non-holo version (#16) of this card looks a lot better. The little sparkly bits just distract us from the terrifying scene. No amount of sparkly bits can make it right! In every Pokemon game I've played, Hypno has been a colossal jerk. All he ever does is put my pokemon to sleep and headbutt them to death. It''s super obnoxious and I want to punch him every time I see his big stupid nose. However, I admire his dirty tactics, especially when he's on my team. This Hypno card has a Poke-Power that puts the opponent's pokemon to sleep at the start of every turn. If that wasn't annoying enough, his Spiral Aura attack deals 30 damage then switches out the opponent's pokemon with another benched pokemon of your choosing. Hypno will probably want to pick on that little Magby or Pichu on the opponent's bench because, of course, he's a jerk. This is a great card for bothering your friends with, buy 10 of them. :)
