MTG Card Condition Guide


Near Mint


Near Mint cards may have some imperfections, but they will be very minor, and few in number. These cards can range from 'Mint' to slightly less than 'Mint'. Overall these are in wonderful condition and ideal for a player who wants cards in really nice shape for their decks.

  • A couple of nicks or dings
  • Very light edge wear
  • Very light corner wear
  • Very minor scratch or scuff
  • Other very minor imperfections

Too many of these imperfections will cause a card to be graded Lightly Played.

Foil Near Mint
  • Cannot have any easily noticeable scratches
  • Can have very minor "clouding"
  • Can be slightly warped

Lightly Played


These items will have a little more wear than 'near mint', but are still in good shape and perfectly legal for tournaments. Flaws may include but are not limited to:

  • Nicks or dings
  • Light edge wear
  • Light corner wear
  • Light impressions
  • Light scratch or scuff
  • Other light imperfections

Too many of these imperfections will cause a card to be graded Moderately Played.

Foil Lightly Played
  • Foil Lightly Played cards may have only one very minor noticeable scratch
  • Minor clouding
  • Minor warping

Moderately Played


Moderately Played items are on a much larger spectrum in terms of flaws, the condition may be worse, but these cards should still be tournament playable in sleeves. While most of these items wouldn't be recommended for collectors, they are great for people who are looking for a substantially cheaper option for a playable card.

  • Heavy edge wear and corner deformation
  • Nicks or dings
  • Substantial warping
  • Moderate scuffing
  • Considerable scratches
  • Heavy impressions
  • "Clouding"

Damaged and Unacceptable Items

We do not buy some items that have too much wear or more severe flaws. This includes but is not limited to the examples below:

  • Creases
  • Excessive edge wear
  • Excessive corner wear
  • Severe Scratches
  • Any water damage
  • Any writing, ink, or other markings
  • Peeling or splitting
  • Cuts or tears
  • Misprints, miscuts, and crimps

Multi Graded Items


Some of the older items for Magic: The Gathering are very valuable and regarded as collector's items for the most part. These we grade on a more specific scale. This scale takes into account how severe the flaws are for the above defined standards. For example if a card is on the lower end of 'near mint' but not quite 'lightly played', it would be considered 'near mint minus'. The scale is roughly as shown below:

Near Mint


Near Mint Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards may have some minor imperfections, the card overall will still be in excellent shape condition-wise and will be playable in tournaments. There can be a few flaws including but not limited to:

  • Light edge wear
  • Light scuffing
  • Minor warping
  • Minor corner wear
  • Few nicks or dings
  • Small light impressions

Too many of these imperfections will cause a card to be graded Played.

Played


Played cards will have more noticeable or more imperfections, but should still be tournament playable in sleeves. While most items with this condition are not recommended for collectors, they are ideal for players looking for a cheaper option to use in their decks. These flaws can include but are not limited to:

  • Edgewear
  • Scuffing
  • Warping
  • Corner wear
  • Moderate nicks or dings
  • Impressions
  • A very minor crease

Too many of these imperfections will cause a card to be graded Played.

Damaged and Unacceptable Items

Pokemon Card Condition Guide


Near Mint


Near Mint Pokemon cards may have some imperfections but also may be brand new. Overall these are in wonderful condition and ideal for a player who wants cards in nice shape for their deck or collection. These flaws can include but are not limited to:

  • Nicks or dings
  • Light edge wear
  • Light corner wear
  • Minor scratches or scuffs
  • Other minor imperfections

The same applies to Near Mint Holos but they may also be slightly warped due to the materials of the cards.

Too many of these imperfections will cause a card to be graded Lightly Played.

Lightly Played


These items will have a little more wear than Near Mint, but are still in good shape and legal for tournaments. Flaws may include:

  • Nicks or dings
  • Edge wear
  • Corner wear
  • Impressions
  • Scratch or scuffs
  • Other imperfections
  • Holo clouding/warping
  • A very minor crease

Too many of these imperfections will cause a card to be graded Moderately Played.

Moderately Played


Moderately Played items are on a much larger spectrum of flaws and severity, but these cards are still tournament playable in sleeves. While most of these items wouldn’t be recommended for collectors, they are great for people who are looking for a cheaper option for a playable card.

Damaged and Unacceptable Items


We do not buy some items that have too much wear or more severe flaws. This includes but is not limited to the examples below:

  • Larger or more abundant creases
  • Severe scratches
  • Water damage
  • Writing, ink markings
  • Peeling or splitting sides/corners
  • Cuts, tears or other structurally compromising flaws


Video Game Cartridge


Near-Mint Condition, Definition (To Receive Our Full Buy Price):


A Near-Mint Video Game cartridge has no major flaws. The label is complete and undamaged, no writing, cracks in casing, or loose rattling pieces. The cartridge must work, and may have minor flaws. Some light cleaning of the pins may be necessary for the cartridge to work properly and regularly.

Played Condition, Definition (This Receives Only 35% of Our Buy Price):


Played Video Game Cartridges have more noticeable flaws. These can include (but are not limited to): Price stickers on the label, heavy fading or bleaching that does not make the label hard to read or unreadable. There may be loose rattling pieces when you shake the game, scratches on cartridge, moderate corrosion, and may have some writing on the cartridge as long as it covers less than 20% of the cartridge and is not on the front label. The label may have some peeling or tearing that does not make the title unreadable. There can be cartridge discoloration, however extreme discoloration can make a cartridge damaged.

Damaged Condition, Definition:


Please do not send damaged items that have severe flaws, such as cracked cases, a non-readable or very hard to read label, heavy scratches (such as a name, initials, carvings, etc.) in surface of the cartridge, writing that defaces more than 20% of the cartridge and/or is on the front label, over 30% of the label is peeled off or damaged. Keep in mind, things that can make us consider a cartridge damaged are not limited to these examples.

For a game to be considered ‘Complete - in Box’ it must have all components. The box and manual may have minor flaws, and must be complete without writing or tearing. Too much wear on the cartridge or components may result in a deduction.

Video Game Disc


Near-Mint Condition, Definition (To Receive Our Full Buy Price):


May have minor scratches, and can have a very small amount of writing. The case may have a few cracks. All components must be included and in good condition, meaning few to no minor flaws. The contents required vary depending on the game.

Near-Mint Missing Insert Condition, Definition (Receives 50% Of Our Buy Price):


A near mint game disc(s) with missing or damaged component(s) or insert(s).

Near-Mint Factory Sealed (To Receive Our Full Buy Price):


These are games that are still in their original packaging and in great condition.

Played Condition, Definition (This Receives Only 35% Of Our Buy Price):


The disc may have scratches on the readable surface, and writing or stickers on the non- readable side. These must be fully working. The case may have some cracks, and/or writing. It must still have all components with it (book, accessories, additional discs, etc.). The manual and other components may have several flaws.

Damaged Condition, Definition:
