Gate Guardian - MRD-000 - Secret Rare 1st Edition

Excellent looking card, I finally got to pick one up for my collection after never being able to get my hands on one as a kid, such nostalgia. Trollandtoad.com does not disappoint. My Gate Guardian got here fast and exactly as described. I love this card. It is hard to summon, but a true classic and 1 of my favorites. I actually managed to pull 1 of these last year when I found some Metal Raider packs on sale for like $1 apiece. It is probably my favorite card in my entire collection because I have all 3 pieces of him and his Secret Rare, 1st edition version that I pulled from the pack. It is even rarer because how many people can say they have a Secret 1st edition Gate Guardian in Spanish?

it doesnt matter what anybody says. this card is one of the greatest of all time compared to all of these synchro monsters crap. this card really brings me back to the good old yugioh days.

This card is one of my favorite cards; it has no effect and hard summoning conditions, but almost nothing can beat its awesome attack strength!

This guy used to be a beast back in the day and is truly a classic. The unfortunate fact of the matter is, it really is only a collectible card now. Summoning it so incredibly hard, you need three monsters who require two tributes each on the field and that is assuming the three cards survive long enough for you to summon Gate Guardian. Not to mention, the pay-off is not worth it at all. Although Gate Guardian is a really powerful monster, it can easily be destroyed or manippulated by just about any magic, trap, or card effect.So basically, you spend all this effort to get the card out onto the field, then your opponent just destroys it or takes control of it and tributes it. Not to mention, there are other more powerful monsters with useful effects that aren't such a hassle to get on the field. This card was pretty neat and really powerful back in the days when metal raider was the newest booster (I bet NO ONE can remember those days lol), but now, it has aged poorly and is just a collectible. Really it deserves only one star, but because it is a classic, I decided to give it three instead.

I only have one question. How many times do you actually get to use this card in play? I mean the TRHREE MONSTERS you need to summon it each require TWO TRIBUTES to be summoned. It is a good card to collect because of it's rareity, but other than that dont bother.
