An amazing ability in a color that draws easily. Clout of the Dominus is an easy way of buffing as well as giving him shroud. Gotta keep that baddie alive!

The idiots that put this card as a one has obviously never used it in an EDH deck. What a bunch of rude people.

niv-mizzet+prosperity+mana flare+ font of mythos+ spellbook = nasty direct damage. turn 8 draw 3 cards, get 16-32 mana(if u have more than 1 mana flare out) this equals a game winner as well as ticked off opponents :))

The best card of the guildpact, the best dragon ever, the best wizard ever! Hope I never play against an Izzet fanatic even though I own this card. LONG LIVE DIMIR and Szadek, the Lord of Secrets. (check him out!)

An incredible card, but useless against the Dormir. Regardless I applaud its excellent effect. The Dormir do not truly exist, but if they did they would laugh at Niv-Mizzets futility...

Ophidian Eye or Keen Sense and it's game with one card draw.

This card is godly.

Just play him, play an ophidian eye, or curiosity to him, and you win the game, and there really isn't anything your oponnent can do about it.

Now I just need a Niv Mizzet *sigh* lol.

Invoke the firemind? ... just use braingeyser, XUU instead of XUUR to draw X cards

Borborygmus (purposefully misspelled) can swing all he wants. The great and powerful Niv-Mizzet does not care for stupid mortals, though he likes incinerating planeswalkers. Careful he doesn't get curious.
Glory to the Firemind.

Ophidian eye gives this already rediculus card a semi-infinite (meaning legal) combo...a type 2 combo btw.

Use Curiosity. USE CURIOSITY! Even without Niv's enchantment of choice, he's still and excelent card. Cantrips, anyone? But really, if you have this guy in your deck, there is no reason not to use Curiosity. I mean, its common as dirt and only costs one mana! USE CURIOSITY!!!

Note: Gruul dosent really have any "When this card is played, you win." cards, but it dosent need them. And Orzhov...Orshov...*Glares and Ghost Council*

Combine this card with Mind Over Matter and you can draw an unlimited (save your deck size) number of cards, and therefore do that much damage. So sweet

I first thought Izzet was nerdy too. But now they rock. Put Niv-Mizzet in play with two Gelectrodes and play the simple Reach through Mists and you PING for five damage and can still attack with Niv.

This is an awsome card. I just got two of them and made a deck around them using alot of draw spells and To Arms!, a white card but still, thats what artifacts are for. I need a few crads like mindmoil as suggested above and I'll have a pretty good deck thaks wizard for making the card and thanks above for the suggestion of mindmoil. Truly awsome card.

This card in my opinion, is the best and coolest card in the guild pact set. Combine it with some card drawing spells and......... WATCH OUT!But to you people who like the Gruul and Orzhov guilds........ every body has their own opinion, so don't clog up the reviews of cards because its from a diffrent guild. The people at TrollandToad are doing every magic player a big favor by allwoing players to write and read reviews on certain cards. Thanks to you guys at TrollandToad for all your hard work.

Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind is the best card of guilpack. Niv-Mizzet + curiosity = you win the match.

Niv mizzet has to be the key card in and izzet themed deck. He is based around drawing cards and doing damage, thats red and blue for ya! Niv mizzet has an awesome ability, not to mention he is a 4/4 flying creature that only costs 6 to play!!! Any ideas for my deck where based around this godly dragon, blue lets you draw cards and counter stuff whilst you're at it! Red does damage, and well...does damage! Niv is the coolest card in guildpact, if you don't believe me, look in the manual!!!

A little weak for a dragon in the P/T area, but gonna be a real killer in my red/blue card cycling deck. Knew I had to have him as soon as I laid eyes on the bugger.

Lots of people have mentioned Ophidian Eye and Curiosity, and I thought Compulsion should be mentioned as well. It is another instant win when paired with this guy.

Great on his own and capable of an amazingly wicked combo: Ophidian Eye. I need say no more.

Why has no one said to combine the Mizzet with Ophidian Eye. This way, you can draw as many cards as you want and then deal a damage for each one. He really COSTS WAY TOO MUCH, though, and has a nasty habit of dieing. My advice is to use him anyway.

Niv is too fragile and can easily be killed by Orzhoz. Considering an Orzhov deck normally runs on average 20 kill spells or killing creatures for example Teysa and Angel of Despair, there is about a 95%chance Niv wont make it to the next untap step.

I think that all people that play izzet should, let's say, burn in a fiery cess pool of misery and torment (A.K.A Hell)...
