The fact that you can use it as soon as it comes into play outweighs the fact that it can only be used for creatures. Great for slivers or any other multi-colored mostly creature deck. However if your deck has quite a bit of spells, go for Rupture Spire instead.

That really depends Keith. This card is perfect in my sliver deck, as it consists mainly of sliver creatures. As long as your deck don't depend on instants and sorcery spells, this card is a lot better than City of Brass and other painlands. In my deck, this is without doubt a 5-star card.

I give it a 3 for only use for creature spells prefer rupture spire better for the fact you pay 1 when it comes in play then tap for any color and use for anything such as spells etc.

Now *this* is the kind of card I like! I don't think we'd have a Dark Bant archetype (Doran plus expensive mana accelerators plus Bant-y things like Rafiq and Rhox War Monk) without this. It also really powers up the Elemental archetype (Primal Beyond, Vivid Crags, and Reflecting Pools don't necesssarily always cut it) and also kind of changes it around a little bit (Blightning probably won't work with this card, but Shriekmaws take the place of removal, Mulldrifters cuts out Esper Charms, Wismare cuts Disenchant, Ingot Chewer cuts Naturalize, Reveillark cuts Mannequin...you get the point). And they're only uncommon! Yaay!
