I rated this card with a 5 because of exactly the reasons the other reviewers stated. You can charge up a fire ball, a drain life, an expensive creature, or use it for sneak attacks. I have always found it useful and is usually one of the cards I search for if I'm playing mangara's tome. If you can play it, you have 4 mana and that means anythings that costs 8 or less is instantly fair game!

This card is a sneaky killa. I use one in my EDH and it's purpose is to allow me to mana ramp something really expensive at the end of my opponent's turn(In most cases a creature with 6CMC or greater), then play it during my turn for free or really cheap. I have used this is many occasions to save my kill card from being discarded to Duress, Hymn to Tourach, etc. If you want to have some real shenanegans use with Voltaic Keys and Counterspells

With the cards out there that destroy artifacts, it can be risky playing a spell on it, but every time I have used this card it's come out a winner. Team it up with Sol Ring or other quick mana cards and you're playing your big boys quickly! Muliticolor decks also become easier. I love my Overrun, but it's not always easy to get three of one color in a multicolor deck. This card makes the task much easier. Also, how could you beat loading up a fireball? Twice the mana...twice the damage!

Hello, fellow Magic enthusiasts. If you're reading this, you are really cool. Ice cauldron is one of those over looked cards. It is amazing to me that there has only been one other review on this card so far. I believe what they said was "good luck trying to figure it out" or something.

--Now. What this card does is let you pay for a spell in installments. Say you have a...i don't know, colossus of sardia. You pay 4 Mana, tap ice cauldron and put colossus on it. Next turn you draw a basic land, pay 5 mana and you geat a colossus. Neat, ain't it!? Also, cards on Ice Cauldron can't be taken from your hand, so I've seen people put Dark Rituals or counter spells or Corrupt and other fun things on Ice Cauldron fully paid for, so they can swing a combo in one turn with significantly less mana and less fixers.
