The classic worst card in all of Magic. Newer players would not understand, other than to say that the Wood Elemental was once sought after, like cards such as the Laces, Sorrow's Path, and the Adventurer's Guildhouse, for thier awesomely blunderous ability. But none are as horrible as the dreaded Wood Elemental. There are few cards that rival the Wood Elemental in sheer insult to loose to, and there is few cards better to pack in a reject draft. In short, the Wood Elemental's might can only be measured by its total suck. What in the name of Richard Garfield were they thinking? 4 casting cost with power and toughness equal to the number of untapped forests you sack when it comes into play, wow, that sucks. For six land, tapping four and sacking two, you would get a massive 2/2 elemental. You just have to laugh. I recall in the prime of M:TG, the good players had a Necro/Hippy Deck and the best players had a Wood Elemental/Balence Deck. Nothing in the Unglued / Unhinged expansion equals the joy of this wonderfully terrible card.

Imagine pulling this b@%tch from a Legends booster pack if you bought one today; sour grapes. Nevertheless, there's something cool about the bad cards in Magic. Being able to use those bad cards sucessfully in a game is even better. That being said, there is a certain romance to this and other such abominations of the MTG landscape.

For me and for many, this is the WORST card ever released. X/X creature for X mana is mostly considered normal but this card is a X/X for X+4 mana and has a negative ability of destroying your own lands... Sucks
