Turn 1: Island, tap for Sol ring, lay down memniteTurn 2: Tinker.... Pull this guy out. That''s how u play this guy. Your welcome. To turn it into turn 1 play, you need either Fastbond, Black Lotus, or Tolarian Academy pretty much unless u plan to combo for the Mana. Add messenger''s speed and u don''t even leave a turn 2 to wait for this guy to attack.

I'm starting to get back into magic after about a year and a half off. And let me tell you, for a guy who spent quite a bit of money on making a great darksteel colossus deck, seeing this card makes me a little angry. This card makes darksteel colossus obsolete. Still it is amazing and I would absolutley love to own two. I play vintage and legacy and here is what I use for darksteel colossus (ideal draw): Turn 1, mountain. Turn 2, island. Turn 3, island and goblin assault. Turn 4, island and polymorph the goblin token for one of the only creature cards in my deck (2 darksteel colossi). Turn 5, sculpting steel for a second colossus. It's not pro, but for playing with cassual players, this deck has had great success. If I get a couple of these, itll be quicker to get rid of people with the poison counters.

Awesome turn 5 win. turn 3 master's call, turn four shape anew and pull out blightsteel Colossus. turn 5 swing for the win. In my oppinion he should be the only artifact for this to work. I currently have a deck with proxies and i'm waiting on money to finish but the only creature and artifacts in it is Blightsteel colossus. awesome Card. Strategy works everytime. just watch out for revoke existance and couterspells.

I got a booster box. I managed Tez but not this card. So I just ordered it. I can't wait to get it. I think no one will want to play my artifact deck anymore.

to the homeboy talking about vintage... do realize that lotus petal is resticted? so your idea of two of em in an opening hand wont actually happen... hate to break it to ya, either way thats kind of a lot of cards for otk, you shouldnt have to have an imaculate hand to pull off a vintage win, thats way to inconsistant.

Here's a better turn 1 combo: Play Ancient Tomb and cast Lotus Petal. Tap Ancient Tomb and sec Lotus Petal, adding 2R to your mana pool. Cast Seething Song, adding RRRRR. Use RRRR to cast Sneak Attack. Use the remaining R to put Blightsteel Colossus into play, and it has haste.

lets see a turn 5 win:
in standard
1.tap grand architect and 2 blue creatures on turn 3 for thopter assembly or precursor golem. if you have blightsteel in your hand. turn 4 drop blightsteel attack.
2. trinket mage for the only other artifact in your deck darksteel axe turn 4 shape anew.
3. 2 artifact creatures and grand architect by turn 3 and kuldotha forgemaster in your hand.

extended:
1. turn 2 etherium sculptor. turn 3 master transmuter, turn 4 blightsteel.
2. grand architect pili-pala and blightsteel or fabricate, treasure mage, or whatever.

im not even going into vintage or legacy.
I wonder what this power creep thing is i keep hearing about lol.

Wonderful combo with Shape Anew and Inkmoth Nexus, with Inkmoth only being an artifact while it is in play, makes this card a 4 mana cost creature guaranteed every time ^_^ it wouldn't surprise me to see that start popping up in standard more often.

ok heres my idea..... god hand..... turn 1.... your opponent gets 11 poison counters..... game over.....
this is how i want to do it.... (vintage)
turn 1.... 2 lotus petals... sol ring volcanic island (or any blue mana, but i suggest the volcanic, ill explain..)
sac 1 petal, for colorless, cast sol ring... tap your mana for blue, cast tinker.... find blightsteel.... put it into play
now if you have one red mana available, you can use an old school card called chaos charm... (instant, it gives one creature haste till the end of turn) cast, swing... game.....
now if you dont have the red on turn one, that is why i suggest the volcanic island.. so you can do that on turn two.... or just use a souls fire.. (you have the sol ring in play, and then red mana available to cast it...
to protect yourself.. force of wills.. daze.. or you can also use solfataria..(instant, player cant play lands this turn.. you can use this on there turn one... just to give you one more turn to "infect" them silly.....
now if you have a blightsteel in your hand.. you can do two things.... show and tell..... but your opponent might do somthing that you cant deal with....or you can use .... through the breach... (its very easy to get one red and 5 colorless mana on turn two.. tolarian academy can help... or pyretic ritual.... it gives you one more red.. and that could be the game winner.... i give it only 4 stars because... its gonna be tough to play in standard... and the cost is high... (only two colorless away from emercul...but he can put a hurt on him too...)

Oh great, Darksteel Colossus has a steroidal brother that can potentially kill you in a single turn.

One word, Treachery.
