Arc-Slogger is one of the best red cards out there. In a Burn deck, it can be a 4th turn kill.

This card rocks and anyone who says it sucks are complete retards and noobs. I won so many tournaments with this card. In a red burn deck by turn 6 and if you have him out he is probably at 8 life and then you can use his abilities and win

What a lot of the people who have given it low ratings miss is that its ability is best used as a finisher, and if you're playing a red burn deck it shouldn't be hard to get his/her life total low enough to use the Arc-Slogger to kill 'em. Until you get to that point, it's a decent attacker/blocker.

The only problem for me is, that I almost always play with 40 cards in a deck... But it's still pretty good.

Well...

if you read above it, you will see that i have written a different review than this one

I have changed my opinion slightly.

It is actually, not that bad of a card. The horrible ability does take you away from the fact that it IS a 4/5 and that is fairly good for the five mana.

I do not reccomend this card if you plan to nail someone just before they die - they'll probably prevent it. Instead, spend the energy attacking them.

There's a reason why every Big-Red deck (a deck that is doing very well in standard right now) has this card. The ability has won me so many games when my opponent only has a couple of life left, yet has a barrage of creatures waiting to kill me next turn if I don't do something. It is basically uncounterable direct damage, unless of course of stifle or damping matrix. Then you have a 4/5 for 5 mana. A seething song gets it out early. This is a very good card and any red fan should have this card. Trust me you'll reap the rewards. And you'll understand why your opponent will want to kill it right away.

What is wrong with all of you!? I can't believe that you can't see potential in this card. So what if you have to give up ten cards. If you use this card in a red control deck then you shouldn't have to use the ability more than three or four times and if you do then you're probably to far behind in the game for it to be of any help. With all of the affinity running around this card can help lock the game for you if you get ahead. And it was mean to pick off little creatures instead of hitting your opponent unless you can get a win with it. Think about it. A 4/5 for five mana WITH the emergency kill switch. That just screams seething song. And if you use chrome mox then just imagine a first or second turn slogger. If you hate it's ability that much then use it's bulk to smack your opponent around.

an excellent sideboard card for mono red decks. i've thought about putting one in my 1.5('legacy' i guess now) mono red deck. like the more intelligent reviewers have said, this card can seal the game for you in the later rounds. with an opening draw of seven cards, how many people get to play out even a third or fourth of their deck? especially in 1.5, which is what i almost exclusively play. and my deck is land destruction and "permanents" removal....hehehe. so removing 40 cards to get the last eight points of damage in doesn't seem too shifty. in conclusion, a nifty card that's alot of fun although i'm not sure it transcends its sideboard status, at least in this viewer's eyes.............

You guys are stupid! If you have a 100 card deck and 10 mana when you play it you can kill someone when you get it out!

I personally think the ability on this guy is not worth the high activation cost. But I also know that people who disagree with me aren't necessarily stupid or know nothing about the game. Everyone likes different styles of gameplay. It is simply a matter of taste. You might have better luck getting others to listen to what you have to say if you post a logical, objective review instead of just calling people retarded because their opinion is different than yours. Settle down, people. It's only a game!

i'd never use this card, for its one special ability, you have to discard, from the entire game, the top 10 cards, to deal only 2 damage directly. Unless your opponent has only to life left, i dont see the cause to ever use this ability. The only 2 things good about it is its rareness and attack/deffense.
Don't waist your $.

tomas, justin, and MTG_4ever, are you stupid? yeah you could win a game with this card if you some how manage to draw this card plus 5 land cards in the begining of the game, also cosidering the fact that you will need a 100 card+ deck to kill your opponent. if you can manage that then i might consider moving my rating to 2 stars. (the only reason i gave this a 1 is because there isnt a half star)

Can't believe it, remove TEN CARDS? For TWO DAMAGE? Not my most favourite.

This card is very helpful. . . IF YOUR OPPONENT HAS ONLY 2 LIFE. I wouldn't suggest having this in your deck. Unless you like decking yourself.
