In extended i have had good success with fauna shaman, vengevine, bloodbraid elf, and demigod of revenge i built a deck that ran only creatures kitchen finks, putrid leech, sprouting thrinax, birds of paradise, goblin guide, bogart ram gang, anathemancer. If you know what im talking about yes the deck can lose but I kid you not fauna can chain demigod of revenge, vengvine, or anthamancer if need be bloodbraid elf always cascades into 2 creatures to bring vengvine out goblin guide and birds of paradise alow you to hardcast 2 creatures most have haste i have actualy swong into a baneslayer angel with so much force that the block and lifegain didn't matter i even got to go 2-1 against a fae player in the tournament format breaking? no blut i won against all the odds.

Easily cycle through all your vengevines with Fauna Shaman, then cast multiple cheap creatures (Elvish visionary, Sylvan Ranger, Llanowar Elves, Joraga Treespeaker, etc.) and by T5 you can hit for over 20

It's been a staple in my deck since ROE. To all the people that gave this less than 5 stars,I think you were wrong. The card is format breaking. 4/3 with haste that can reanimate. I've won games where all I needed to play was this card- and Vengevine alone killed them. What to do when you got a 4/3 on your back, killing it seems hopeless and blocking it seems even worse, DOJ does nothing to em- It may be dead but its just gonna be back again next turn. Theres not much an opponent can do when you go from empty board to up to 6 creatures on the board in one go(four of which have haste). Players have to respond to Vengevine when its on the board-its dangerous when left alone. And while they're wasting their sources on Vengevine, you still got other threats to dish out.

I give this 5 stars. Most consistent green card in Standard.

Is it worth its price- No card is. Especially since you need a playset. My friend ordered 4 the day it was released, and I stupidly didn't. It was then that I saw how good it was after I got my face destroyed and reconstructed by his Vengevine Naya deck.
I only have 1 real one, 3 proxies. Hope the price drops so I can get 3 more

the deck doesnt rely on the grave to win as much as just having this as a win condtion, tarmogoyf relies on the grave and he seems just as strong as ever

As shown in the UG Survival Maddness deck at GP Columbus this card is a house in legacy as well usually fetching up 2 vengvines or more on turn 3 off of basking rootwallas survival combo.

Not bad as you think, this card is a bomb in the green deck, esp. for Jund. As a 4/3 creature with haste and can back again from graveyard (also can attack at the turn when it comes into play), it's a big threat!!! Path to Exile must be ready to exile it as soon as possible.....

I give this card 5 stars because it is extremely good, but I will say that it definitely shouldn't be 40 bucks. That's just a tad bit to much for this card. Really good, but not 40 bucks good.

Pretty good in aggro survival in Legacy
Pretty good in madness in legacy
Pretty good in Naya in Standard
Pretty good in/and against Jund in standard
Playable in combo with intuition
...
Best card of the set ?

this is amazing its like a super bloodghast 4/3 with haste is good alone but green with haste makes it so much better. and that it can be brought back just by playing 2 creatures imagine 3 in ur graveyard and u play a ball lightning then this ( may be rough color wise) and u got 4 4/3 and a 6/1 trampler at least comin at u this turn plus ur other creatures this will be expected to see much play

Great card, I just barely got one from a casual buy booster pack. I actually didn't think this card was that big of a deal if you have a Yixlid Jailer or Mindbreak Trap :(, but once I saw the cost I kinda figured out what all the rave was about this card. It's great against removal, it's also good 'cuz it's not Eldrazi :p! Your opponent will start to get really annoyed when they figure that their doom-blades are being wasted on an un-killable creature. It's also good against all of those nasty counterspells... ROFL after your opponent spends some useless mana... HAHAHAHA!

Are you friggen kidding me! Green+Haste=DEADLY. Have already won 3 local tounaments with my playset. I've been hearing rumors that wizards made a mistake regarding the casting cost of Vengevine. Hunch tells me he's gonna climb. Get ur playset now. Since this guy has won me a set of Duals and a foil Jace, he gets 5 stars. A welcome addition to any mage's green battle deck.

Spectacular!! I have a BG deck which has let me play Swamp, Dark Ritual, Buried Alive. Drop 2 Vengevines and Brawn into my graveyard on my first turn. It's pretty much open season after that.

Yeah, I saw the old man playing that deck... it's just like green reanimator, no threats except the Force of will and the Vengevine itself. For tournament, just bring Leyline of the Void and there'll be no problem.

Love this card! Green and haste? I'll take four please. But so far only one thanks to pre-release, looking forward to these actually coming out. If my pre-release was any indication, this is MUCH rarer than Gideon. Get your copies now!

Tarmogoyf is useless if each player have no cards in their graveyards.... You think that the 0/1 is strong? You need training 100 years more to beat me. Tarmogoyf is really a big creature, but no control and protection, beat it will be quite easy....... The Vengevine is not great enough....

That deck is great, but any deck that depending on the graveyards are not strong enough to be a winner...

Great card, period. It can't be running in the extendeed or legacy deck.... too slow, and you probably dead if bring this card too much in your deck.

This is great since you can reanimate it again and again..., but the toughness is low... if it's 4/4, it will be a God of Jund deck!!!

4/3 haste for 2GG... and can back from graveyard if you play a creature spell that turn... that's great if that's all you JUST look, try in the real game and you'll find that this card is sucks..... You know why your deck is beaten (or your face blown up) with Vengevine? Because your deck is the same as this card, "sucks and laughable". I play with my casual Elf deck and Vengevine is not threat at all. The 4/3 haste is great, but without "trample" it will do nothing! My Imperious Perfect and Wolfskull Shaman creates 2/2 tokens each turn until Vengevine becomes nothing than useless..... For my opinion, the card that can be rated for 5 stars is the card that strong against all environtments... Vengevine is very strong against heavy control deck, but not strong against weenie or beatdown deck because it's mediocrity....

Great card for type 2 deck, especially Jund deck... but it's bad card and useless in the other type (extendeed/legacy)... I have four of them, but I will sell them as soon as the price is high... It'll be useless in the future...

Not as strong as you see... with many Path to Exile and Oblivion Ring around, this card can be locked easily... If it's 4/4, I will give it five star... but 4/3 is rather weak... and it's mana cost 2GG!!! Can't be cascade by Broodbraid Elf...
