Totally an underrated card.

and Sage, you've gotta read the card.

If they chose let's say 20, then you can have them lose 20 life.
If they chose 0, then you can say "Sacrifice all your permanents, but you can only keep 0 in play. Oh wait, that means all your permanents are gone. You shouldn't have said 0."

They should reprint this card under a new name: "Pick Your Poison"

Combine it with patron of the nezumi so that no matter what number your opponent picks, he or she is losing life. On its own it is still a great card, but what really makes it amazing is the possible combos it can be used in.

If he choses 0 he will lose 0 life but will have 0 permanents, so he will sacrifice all his permanents.

This card is deliciously evil! My friends always count out their permanents now and choose the identical number of permanents they control to force me to choose the loss of life. It used to fool them great!

Now that's a fun card... I probably wouldn't take that into tournament play, but I definately want that in my GRB Spirit Ramp deck!

You know, cards like this are REALLY, REALLY STUPID because it's surprize only lasts once. the next time you play it your opponent is bound to choose 0 making this card entirely worthless.
