Anything is possible
Some cards are great at face value. Powerful effect, cheap casting cost, obvious combos. One With Nothing is great because anyone who looks at it starts thinking, "This is a unique card with a noteworthy effect that is cheap to play... How can I use this?"  It''s a perfect deck builder''s brainstorming prompt.  It probably won''t lead to the next unbeatable deck, but you''ll come up with one that''s fun to build and fun to play.

To most people, this is a terrible card, and that's understandable. But in order to understand the mechanics of magic you need to think outside of the box, you need to ask yourself, "WHY would wizards of the coast produce this card? And then make it a rare!"

I'm about to tell you why.

This card is perfect in a madness deck... lets say you have it in your hand towards the endgame... you play it and then bring out everything in yourhand for half their costs. You might be thinking "But what if I can't play all of the cards for madness?" again, you simply need to innovate. There is a card called library of leng, it is an artifact that makes it so whgen you discard you can put any discarded card or cards on the top of your library, so you can put the valuable unplayable things on your library or just throw out anything that might mess up your drawing speed.

All in all it's actually a great card, people just need to be more open-minded towards the mechanics of strategy games.

This is a terrible card, and that's why I love it. It just begs the question, "What in the WORLD could ANYONE possibly use this for? They'd have to be out of their mind!" (Heh... I made a funny there.) It fires up the imagination! Seriously, I can only think of one or two uses for this card: You can use it as an emergency Hellbent or Threshold enabler, but there are much better ways to do that. On the other hand, I once won a game with a Barren Glory/Jokulhaups/One with Nothing combo -- again, better ways to do that, but damn, it felt good. :)

wow you guys are all bashing one of the best cards printed. The hellbent it ok
but here is the real jewel to this rare.

one word madness

now cast lots of stuff for less and here comes some hurt.

one mana plus madness

third turn kill
you guys are all shortsighted on this card it is almost broken

this is an awesome rare. All you need is any black ani deck
and library of lang so you decide what gets discarded couple that with a tutor and you have a better cheaper buried alive. In magic there are no bad rares just odd uses
so stop banging on this awesome card

Best thing I can think of off-hand would be something like Bridge from Below/Ichorid/Leyline of the Void, etc. But I use Breakthrough instead to dig 4 more cards then discard my hand for U, maybe pay 1 or 2 into X to keep something special. But this being Instant speed has it's own perks... Hard to give a solid rating due to the fact I havn't been able to play with it myself. I like the ideas before w/ Madness machanic and lock-down with Ensnaring Bridge, sounds like fun.

4 Stars for it's flavor...

You people who say that card is one of the worst rares ever printed have no idea what you're talking about. It works with Haakon for sure, also MADNESS and hellbent too...I agree that it doesn't have quite as many uses as a lot of other cards, which is why it gets 4 stars.

This is a keystone card in my madness deck. I combo this with Minions Murmurs and play tons of amazing cards for virtually nothing. You all seriously need to back off this one. Just cause you aren't creative doesnt mean this is a bad card. (the jokulhaups, barren combo is hillarious too)

Might sound like a bad card but put it in a black and white deck and then wrath of god all your creatures and make sure you have no enchantments out and then next turn play barren glory then play one with nothing and you just one the game

ok every single time i see a card that might hurt the player that plays it someone always complains that it sucks but all you have to do is expand your horizons a bit and you'll find a use for it. you could use it for threshold, reanimation, and all sorts of other things. only a noob would not see the value in cards like these

The fact that the card is one mana does NOT mean that you HAVE TO PLAY IT FIRST TURN. It could be great late-game or mid-game utility for Hellbent, Madness, or defense against Owling Mine (I use Owling Mine, too! :D), because it would leave you with more mana to use abilities that rely on Hellbent or such.
Also, consider this - First turn, Swamp. Dark Ritual. Exhume on the stack, respond with One with Nothing. One with Nothing resolves, you drop your hand, Exhume resolves, pull a creature out and toss it onto the field. Admittedly, Funeral Charm would do the same thing, but it goes to show that it does have it's instances.

Its a bad card but I think there are some combos with it, though I dont know any. Threshold was the first thing that came to mind for me when I saw this card, but then I don't understand why it has been printed in Saviors, in that set you want many cards in your hand.

I've heard of bad rares, but this one takes the cake! It only has two or three possibilities (which is better than nothing, so I gave it 2 stars instead of one)!

Ok. This is a bad card. Even for a Rakdos and all that empty-your-hand stuff, it's bad. Lets compair to a more common card, say, Delirium Skeins. Skeins costs more and does less, but also makes your foe drop some cards. "But mystereous stranger, this card does more and costs less, like you said!" Costs less. Yeah. Thats worthless in this kind of card.

Yay, on my first turn, i can discard my entire hand! Whoopie! Now all my cards that love me having an empty hand are super ultra powerful! Attack, my Jagged Poppet...that I just discarded. Opps. Well, I've got more. My turn again! Draw! Oooo, a Wreacking Ball. I'll just play some lands and...oh wait...no lands...I know! I'll just play some card drawing cards! Er...once I get more lands I mean...draw, can't play it. draw, can't play it. Draw, yay, a land! Draw, can't play it. Draw, can't play it. Man, the other guys sure has a big army now...um...

Yeah. You lose. By the time you have some of those shiney Poppets o whatever out you'll have much less cards in your hand, mabey three or four. Play the skeins, which you WILL have enough mana for by now, and your hand will be almost, if not completly, empty, plus your foe will have lost some stuff to, hurting his ability to stop your legons from beating in his face.

Reamber kids, WINNERS DON'T USE ONE WITH NOTHING.

This is one of those rares that if you get it in a pack, you want your money back. Although, if it was common, I'd probably get one in every pack.... Wow, this card is nothing but a losing situation. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

Sorry but id don't understand the last review, zombify is a sorcery, so you can't play it. If you got it in your hand you must discard it, and you won't pretend to play all the game without cards praying to a zombify to appear
