This hero is simply awesome, he's not meant to be in competetive decks but he is quite nice my favorite combo is...Diamond dude+A feather of the pheonix+any magic card(I like the magical cannon one that destroys all your opponents cards)

Diamond Dude is a great card, but there are risks to his effect. The best thing about him is that you instatantly activate the effect of the normal spell card, nost cost. That means:
-Brain Control- keep you 800 LP.
-Magic Stone Excavation/Trade In/Destiny Draw- Don't have to discard, just draw.
-Burst Stream of Destruction: You don't need a Blue-Eyes on your field! (I used to run him in my Blue-eyes deck for that purpose).
The only problem is you non-normal spell cards get sent away too, like E-Teleport, MST, and others. But the worst is if you draw "Polymerization" with his effect. Your out of luck.
Overall, solid card. Easily searchible and an effect with minimal risks (if you don't run Poly).

I'm not sure what Dave meant by "not optional", because it clearly says you "can" activate... Also this card is great for decks that pack 3 Destiny Draw, because if you send a normal spell with this guy you (1) don't have to pay costs and (2) don't have to worry about Requirements. So if you send Destiny Draw you won't have to discard, and if you send Burst Stream of Destruction you don't have to have a blue eyes white dragon on the field...

Diamond Dude is an excellent card in his own deck, passable in a few D-Hero/Dark Variants, but outside of his own niche I wouldn't run him.

Diamond dude's effect is a real gamble, should be used in desperate or hope-less situations in a duel. However, it works well with combos, such as the effect of Big-eye, which allows you to look at the 5 tops card and arrange them in any order. Then you put spell card desired on the top, then use Diamond dude's effect.

However, it makes you use the magic/spell card automatically, it isn't optional, and it HAS to be a 'normal' spell/magic, excluding quick-magic, equip magic, field, etc.

but seeing that its atk and dfn is reasonable, it is recommended for any deck :)
